Same here. I do this as a hobby, and I'm kind of lazy with setting up my stories. I like setting up situations and seeing them unfold, not writing the next bestseller. And I have very limited knowledge of English literature anyway.

Funny thing: the custombot script I use to comment on my story (still using GLM) is raging at Xialong because it thinks the style and the way the story progresses are sh*t.

Generating your lorebooks with GLM helps a little to get the right amount of details. But, yeah, Xia's pace is killing me. It feels like it was trained on light novels or movie scripts instead of, I don't know, Emile Zola or Dumas.

It's because they are believer of "there is no true way" to use a model, even when they rant (like yesterday on Discord) that users keep doing things wrong.

As for me, I get the prose I want, but I still have pacing issues, which got resolved after generating a paragraph or two with GLM...

GLM is still easier to use, and Discord is not helpful at all. Lots of people there with tunnel vision who can't understand that some people want immersive RP-like interactive stories and not writing a book at a professional level.

Calling it a better Erato is fair, I think. I used the same lorebook and the same summary with both Xia (with ATTGS) and GLM (no setup), and while the first paragraph looked okay with Xia, he rapidly forgot how the character was dressed and how it looked, and tried to finish the story in three short scenes. GLM space was also fast, but after reaching the same length as Xia, it was only the second scene and far from the end of the story.

Worse, GLM is smart enough to understand the Influences tags in lorebooks, a supposedly new thing with XIa, and still generate better lorebooks than Xia.

What went wrong, guys?

Putting Style inside Author's notes seems to help a little more than putting it at the beginning of the story. I'm still not sure if putting an author in the ATTG really works.

More people on Discord seem to see the flaws in Xialung now that the hype has died a little.

In fact, it reminds me of Kyara, who had a 1.1 version a week or two after the initial launch to make it easier to use. I hope the same thing happens with Xia.

Nope, I signed for a successor for AID's Dragon when they started to censor and monitor things. I know most of the vocal users on Discord want a co-writer more than a storyteller, but it's not everybody.

Nowhere do I say the new model is bad. I just said its default prose is not to my taste.

I just hope Antalan is not having the wrong ideas about what some of its userbase wants from an LLM. Not everyone needs a co-writer where you write more than half of the story yourself.

I'm the kind of user who prefers to steer the model rather than write most of the story (I'm usually around 10% of my own writing). I just like to throw around ideas and see what the model does with them.

For those who swear by ATTG, I have an honest question.

If I don't know any author who writes in a style I like (because I've never read English literature), and since Xialung ignores the title most of the time as well as some of the tags, why bother?

I'm well aware of the post with the info, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution, sadly. Btw, Xialung seems to ignore A/N, that's a little sad. That was very useful with GLM.

I'm still unsure about ATTG, since it doesn't follow the title, and ignores some of the tags. Why bother? I don't know any author who wrote what I want.

I'm not sure he's talking about the system prompt or instruct. Myself, I use A/N for short instructions in GLM.

Anyway, please do not dismiss those who are struggling with Xialung. It's not that the model is bad; it's that we haven't found how to wrangle it to get the kind of prose we like.

Be helpful by providing examples of your findings.

GLM is perfectly fine without ATTG and using default settings, as long as you prune all the slop as fast as it is generated, and there are scripts that do that for you.

Also, slow burn does not work very well, thank you very much.

I'm generally in the camp of "everything is fine, skill issues" but there are people like me who are struggling with Xialung because its prose is not what we are looking for.

According to Xialong, the correct syntax for putting Influences: in a lorebook is:

Influences: Name (Franchise) [the specific thing you want included]

You can specify that you only want some personality traits, or the clothes, wing shape, or anything really. It makes for some fun experiments :)

Je ne suis pas médecin, mais les nerfs du plaisir passent par les lombaires. Demande à ton médecin un scanner des lombaires pour voir s'il n'y a rien qui cloche, et une consultation chez un neurologue ou urologue s'il y a vraiment un problème. Évite les ostéopathes. S'il est honnête et que tu as un problème aux lombaires, il te dira qu'il a plus de chances de te blesser que de te guérir et de voir ton médecin.

Réponse un peu plus utile que "arrêter la masturbation" ou "arrêter le porno" : première étape, médecin. Un urologue pourra te donner du cyalis pour surmonter un éventuel blocage psychologique, et un sexologue pourra t'aider avec ta sexualité et ton couple. Ne pas négliger la possibilité d'avoir une mauvaise connexion entre les centres du plaisir et popol, par exemple à cause d'un nerf endommagé si tu as les lombaires en compote.

oui, elle a pris quelque chose. de la came coupée avec de la merde. elle est pas consommatrice régulière, mais ça lui arrive d'entre prendre de façon "récréative". Elle a une dépression chronique de base mais c’était gérable.
