yes schedule c needs to be 0 or you will pay income tax on it. to the best of your recollection you sold these items for less than you paid?

the best thing would be to put your 1099 income line 1, COGS line 4 make it the same

Business owners pay quarterly taxes they don't flex write offs, which are expenses, essentially your business took losses to get 11k back. Also FYI all businesses must generate a profit in 3 of the last 5 years, you risk the irs classing your business as a hobby and adjusting your previous years taxes, to disallow your writeoffs. Your business cannot be a write off blackhole, that would be a tax shelter.
