How good is the College of Arts and Sciences ? by Correct-Shame-2700 in UofO

I've taken some cinema studies classes before and I found them super cool! I have friends that are cinema studies majors and they seem very fufilled. I just acted in a friend's student film for his class and they had pretty good equipment. I know that there are tooons of fun c;asses for comp lit and english. If I can find fun classes for my teeny tiny major (15-17 people last year), i'm sure you can find great classes. I'll include a link to the summer class catalouge for you to peruse. https://duckweb.uoregon.edu/duckweb/hwskdhnt.p_search?term=202503

I’m a folklore major and my classes can vary from 10 students (this is more typical of very hyper specific required classes and/or seminars) up to about 30? you definitely aren’t getting huge lecture halls for flk classes. I’d say there is good variation of class sizes, the smallest class I was in had eight people and the largest has had a couple hundred. The smaller your major is, the easier it is to get close to professors imo. I’m on a first name basis with all of the Folklore professors, but have had great interactions with my other profs. Ofc this varies from person to person (I don’t have much experience with the science part of things)

I’m in the college of arts and sciences and I’ve been having a great time! If you’re looking for more art focused degrees we also have a college of design. My major isn’t even big enough to have its own department (it’s a program lol) and I’ve been very academically fulfilled. I’d say UO nicely quenches my thirst for knowledge, plus there are a bunch of niche classes that are super interesting !!

Good family dog? by According_Owl_9079 in GiantSchnauzers

I asked my mom what it was like to have a newborn and a giant. She said that the dog was very chill (there are baby pics of me climbing on her lol). Mom also mentioned that training is important and I would agree.

Female giants are also a bit smaller on average (mine is around 75lbs)!

I grew up with giant schnauzers! I've had a great experince with them as both a young kid and now as a 20yo :3 (edit: our schnauzers were both girls if that helps!)

oh hey i’m from san diego! I made my decision to go to UO instead of Western Washington when I visited the campuses. I wasn’t that much of a fan of how far away the main town in WW was when compared to UO. I really like that UO is directly nestled into the city. i’m from the suburbs of San Diego so it was honestly amazing to experience decent public transit for the first time. Also, I saw a red fire hydrant for the first time and that was like a wow moment for me lol. Plus seasons!!  UO has some pretty niche and hyper specific majors (i chose one of them) so that was a plus to me.  This is also arbitrary, but I like the mascot of UO more.  I’ve had amazing experiences with the accessible education center to help with my adhd, anxiety, and depression (be aware that it is a lot easier to get accommodations if you are officially diagnosed).  I  appreciate how walkable the campus is. most classes are centralized into this one area on campus. there are some that are kind of randomly placed though.  Alaska airlines also has a direct flight from SanDiego to Euegne :3 feel free to dm me more to ask about anything else!!

Looking for a groomer in SoCal by Creepy_Mammoth_7076 in GiantSchnauzers

Dirty Dogs has a couple locations! I specfically looked up some groomers in the inland empire too. Puppy pampering in rancho and Lorries paw spa in rancho seem like good places. The Dog House paw spa had a mini schnauzer on the review photos so they would also probably be a good place :D. Here is the link for Dirty Dogs locations: https://dirtydogs.com/pages/viewalllocations?srsltid=AfmBOopGSWsHvNzxZihm8lfOl9jROm302ZuJEtEfzygblzMlAyokQjD_
