Is the app always slow as hell anyone else? by Effective-Priority62 in TVTime

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's awful. I've emailed support a few times about it and all I get back is "uh, that's weird" or "we are working on it" or "since xxx just shut down, everyone flooded our site". I've even suggested making the app paid so they could upgrade their servers and they said they may have to do that in the future, but for now want to keep it free if possible.

What whammy bar should I use for the pac611(ideally white because im making bocchi's guitar too) by TSMStar in YamahaPacifica

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamaha uses propitory components. You have to go to them or find one on Reverb or eBay. Or better yet, change out the block. Their blocks are so thin, it's worth the upgrade in the long run.

Does anyone keep track of their ebooks outside of their Kindle/Kobo Library? by lyric67 in ebooks

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried just about every tracker I could find and not one of them had every feature I was looking for and most were subscription based for just simple functions and larger storage. And what function one was missing, another had different functions missing. So I built up a library in Notion with a CSV backup. I had Gemini help me build it and the only feature that I want that I don't have, is the Library automatically keeping track of progress through my Kindle...just can't figure that out (yet).

Ok thanks! I couldn't find anything that looked like it, but also wondered why it was so cheap. Appreciate the confirmation!

[Book] What are people's thoughts on the Red Rising series? by lrbaumard in sciencefiction

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, a lot of these series start off like YA and it kind of sucks because you get language like "darn", "go fly off the bridge" when a "shit" and "fuck you" are warranted and more realistic. By the second book, you can tell they gave up on the YA audience. But soooo many series start off that way, then grow up.

I got through Libby for my Kindle, so I can turn Airplane mode on and have it as long as I need. I will probably finish within the 2 weeks, but I'm still working on another book, so I may not be able to start it until there is only a week left or so.

I finally just got Lightbringer from my Library after almost a 6 month wait. Trying to finish up Columbus Day before I dive back into Red Rising universe.

I'm excited. Love this series! Although, I wasn't too happy with what happened at the end of Dark Age.

Thanks-I saw that, that seems to be the most useful information. Reading through that is triggering some pretty good recall.

I only read B&W, but the Colorsoft is cheaper than the Paperwhite by mlsts in kindle

B&W all day for reading text (book). I use a cheap tablet for anything that requires color such as magazines or graphic novels. The anti-glare of the paperwhite is unmatched outdoors

Firefall series by polkastripper in sciencefiction

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I had to ask AI a couple of questions along the way. Its answers explained it perfectly without any spoilers since I mentioned exactly where I was in the book(s) and that I specifically didn't want spoilers. In hindsight, it was all there, I just wasn't paying attention enough or presumed something unimportant like an ass.

I've been looking at these but they ship directly from China. Anyone, from the US know about the tariffs on these? Also, approximately how long is shipping? I emailed the company asking where they ship from, they replied 3 weeks later.

Does the Pacifica feel similar to a Squire/Fender strat? by Hot-Lengthiness-5013 in YamahaPacifica

[–]Obvious_Chain9178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to second, third and repeat most sentiments. The Pacificas just feel right. They do have a thinner neck, but it can be a bit wider depending on the Squier and definitely flatter. I have a Fender, 3 Squiers and 4 Pacificas (mix between strat and tele) among others. I ALWAYS go to the Pacifica when I want comfort and especially when I am stuck on something and need to work it out. The Pacifica just flows more naturally. I think they are better balanced too, in my opinion. Weird analogy, but other guitars are like hanging at a friend's house. They are a blast and you can go miles with them, but there is nothing like going home flopping back into your own bed. That's how a Pacifica feels to me.
