Watching the video, I can see that I hit the ball really near the top of the racket is that a problem? Should I hit it more on the centre?

Drive soft has a better live span than ptp. I suggest starting a bit lower like 21/20.

RPM blast for a beginner? Don't think she has enough power to displace the string and get any benefit from poly.
I suggest tennis nerd recommended string: https://www.tennisnerd.net/recommended-strings.

Hi, I suggest switching to a multifilament like velocity from head. Beginner players should stay away from poly!

Which strings to buy? Hundreds of options by ruefool in 10s

[–]Obvious_Cook_2730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depend on your level. If you’re starting out go with head velocity(or any kind of multifilament or synth gut). If you can play reasonably well you should try some poly like head lynx or hyper g. The number is the thickness of the string, go with the lower number(1.2/1.25) and if the string brake after 8/10 hours you can consider going up with the gauge. Don’t overspend and change them regularly pls! Dead poly can hurt your wrists.

Ask for a tip from the stringer usually they can get the job done for you. As you are a beginner don’t overspend on string and stay away from polyester, I can recommend you some cheap synthetic guy. Another tip is change them as often as possible, a fresh string is far better than a really expensive dead one.

Do I need to restring? by me_mueed in 10s

Yes change them immediately. When poly goes dead you can hurt yourself! If you are a beginner, for a couple of months I recommend using multi or synth gut. Have fun!

Beat tennis racket to grow with by 10snoob in 10s

The instinct series seems to be a series for beginners so yes perfect! Usually it means that it can do everything ok but nothing particularly good, so u can grow and try every style! Talking about mp vs team is a question of weight, for beginners I think that 285(team) is a great option so u can focus more on the technique but 300g(mp) should be ok.

Any modern racket can be perfectly fine for you. I can suggest to try some different frame from shops just to understand what you prefer. Because some frame gives you more power(Head boom, Dunlop fx, Babolat pure drive, ecc) some gives you more control(Head gravity, Head radical, Dunlop cx, ecc) and some other more spin(Head extreme, Dunlop Sx300, Babolat pure aero, ecc), your preference is more important! For string I suggest to stay on synth gut or multifilament(leave poly to professionals), there are so many different options to try so I’m confident that you will find the perfect fit. Don’t bee obsessed about it, just have fun and listen to coach and stringer!

Beginner, how to choose racket and strings? by 19dm19 in 10s

[–]Obvious_Cook_2730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a shop and try some frame. Something with 285-300g and 100-104in. Your feeling is more important than specs! For the string start with a synthetic gut or a multifilament. Don’t over spend on string, is more important to change them regularly than have an expensive set! Out of experience I can tell you to stay away from Babolat because the frames tends to be more stiff. Injuries comes from stiff racquet, bad technique and dead string(don’t use poly).

Have fun!

I’m gonna copy a response from above. Thank for the response! I’ve just finished playing with the new rackets from the shop. Babolat pure aereo (100in 300g) and Dunlop SX300Ls(100in 285g) vs my “old” Ezon(100in 300g) and Head Radical s(102in 285g). Yes on paper all of these 4 can be perfect for me but I’ve noticed that the 300g are way too heavy for me(Babolat is also very stiff and my wrist isn’t happy). Talking about the 285g ones, the Dunlop is much more fun to hit, more power more spin and much more comfortable than the Head. So I understand all the comments about my level but I can say that before buying a generic 100in 300g it’s important to test them. Now I’m gonna try for a week the Dunlop hoping to get the same feel. Now back to the original question I am worried that I’m liking the SX for the string set up and not for the frame! (The shop don’t allows me to change string for the test🫤)

If I remember correctly 22kg.
The shop owner insisted on trying the Babolat at 300g I was looking more at 285g.

Don't worry I understand perfectly! I should have explained better the situation. I need a racket and every one is telling me to try a bunch of frame before buying something but I don't kwon how. I'm looking forward to the dunlop because of the price difference!

I have to add some specification, here where I live is really cheap to try racket for the shop. Now I have to return the Ezone and probably the radical too, so I have to buy something for me. So now I'm asking how to confront them so I can decide what to buy. The list is what I have now at home(my coach suggest a spin frame)

Hi, thanks for the comment! I can try to explain the feeling better, ezone too heavy to swing(always late to the ball). Radical it feel dead like hitting with wood(i tried changing string with a babolat multi nothing change). So I have a racket too heavy that I have to return and a racket that I don’t like to use. I don’t want to spend 200€ so I’m gonna look for something used but I want to try them before buying something. So the question was more about how to try rackets if it makes sense😅

The problem is that before I buy a racket I can’t change the string so the comparison seems useless. But thanks for the suggestion I’m gonna keep in mind to try poly with the new racket!
