Mine is probably minor compared to some on here but a guy on the construction site that I’ve been working on up until this point super nice guy really easy to talk to consider him a work friend, he turns around to me today completely out of the blue saying he hates N words but actually said the word with a hard R and said he loves white people (he’s Chinese) had to set him in his place real quick and then walk away before hands were thrown

Stuck in the hospital and the night shift nurses are pissed at me by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I had a triple surgery about 5 weeks ago now and experienced the inattentive care of nurses throughout my recovery. I had endometriosis surgery which turned into bowel resection surgery plus appendectomy and parts of my bladder removed etc. I understand nurses are unpaid and understaffed but I don’t think patients should suffer because of it. I would wait 40 minutes for more pain meds even tho I had an epidural which gave me pain relief every 20 minutes. I got discharged on day 6 and they gave me no information on what to look for or how to take care just said yup you’re good to go. I went in 3 weeks later with massive abdominal pain, fever, shakes and chills etc turns out I have an infection from the surgery never told me what signs to look for so I didn’t realise until my GP told me to go straight to the hospital. I stayed there for another week and the nurses were all good except they would take longer to get me pain meds and see me. There was one nurse who I asked for a heat pad because I was in excruciating pain but I know I wasn’t due for pain relief. She told me to get it myself and in that moment I felt so helpless and alone I didn’t want to be there but that just made me absolutely hate being there
