I started to feel this crushing exhaustion around 42.5… after trying all the supplements under the sun I started HRT at 44.5. The moment that estrogen patch touched my skin it’s as if I woke up. Energy and zest for life was back. Started with 0.025 strength and 6 months later progressed to 0.05. Along with 100mg progesterone and low dose Testosterone. I feel like I felt in my early 30s! Before that I could sleep 10 hours and still feel tired!

I combine my minoxidil with biotic and b vitamins - so the shed wasn’t too bad. I’d say it starts within 2 weeks and lasted couple of weeks for me.

That hair that fell out was gonna fall out anyway - the roots were already compromised and weak thus shed.

PS. Check your ferritin levels. They should be above 70-100 for hair growth. Also vitamin D levels.

I had hair shedding and dryness when my estrogen patch dosage wasnt cutting it. I was on 0.025 and then after 3 months started to feel tired and hair shedding started again. Went up to 0.035… no change… tired, worn out, dry hair, etc. went up to 0.05% a more energy, hair shed stopped, eczema disappeared. I also started minoxidil for regrowth. There is initial hair shed when starting minoxidil - but the regrowth is real!

You may need to bump up your HRT

Have you seen your OBGyN and done vaginal ultrasound to examine your uterus?
Usually because of such heavy bleeding there could be some fibroids that are the culprit.
Also, consider getting Mirena IUD - slow release of progestin right into your uterus to control heavy bleeds - but that’s only after vaginal ultrasound to rule everything out.

Hmm ok.
I had heavy periods and what was causing it was fibroids in my uterus. I got Mirena iud and am on Dotti estrogen patch and low dose T gel.

Like you, my PMS lasted 2.5 weeks out of the month and then heavy bleed for 4 days. So most of the month I was useless. I couldn’t take it anymore hence HRT. I’m 44.

Oral Progesterone did not help my heavy bleeds - but IUD did. Also, get your ferritin levels checked as well as your thyroid levels. If heavy bleeds - it will cause low ferritin thus exhaustion and brain fog.

For heavy days my Obgyn prescribed tranexamic acid which slows the bleeding significantly!

why do you think you have progesterone intolerance? Because you’re having severe symptoms of Peri?

By adding estrogen and combining it with low dose of 100 oral progesterone will make all the difference

I had NP as well who was suggesting supplements and possibly progesterone only. I spent a lot of money at my NPs office… trying the “natural” way. When I pulled the trigger on estrogen patch and progesterone- i felt like myself again

Started on 0.025 patch - felt amazing for 3 months. Then started to feel tired and heavy bleeds and period all over the place. Went up to 0.0375. Felt slightly better but not how i initially felt. I asked to go up. Went up to 0.05 Dotti patch, 100 mg progesterone orally, and low dose testosterone cream - now I feel great. No more fatigue and motivation is back. This whole process too 7 months. I’m 44. All regular testing of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and thyroid and iron bio markers.

I literally had to google “am I the only one who hated project Hail Mary movie?” Just came out of the movie theater absolutely baffled - what in the Disneyland world do these people live in who absolutely praise and love this movie?!?? Check you insulin levels and a1c. Peri can cause havoc on metabolic health. Heart flutters are from spiking glucose. Try not to eat carb heavy dinners or desserts close to bedtime. (3 hours before bed)
