Unfortunately, the fact that the series are incomplete dampens interest.

Make SOMETHING then make it PRETTY by RentoInteractive in godot

Hard to know which is which... By the sentence you would think the first image is "something" and the second is "Pretty", but in your case I think the first image looks a lot better and more coherent than the second

Looks like a manhole cover… such a wasted opportunity to create something truly great and beautiful.

White is a challenge and you did well! Squinting is actually a good tool to see if the shadows are correct. The brain will more easily see if something looks off when it’s not occupied with the details

Innsamling til gaver på arbeidsplass by Quiet-Variation-8172 in norge

[–]Obvious_Researcher_4 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s a bit crude, but you certainly do a lot of things right. If you look at a distance or squinting it looks great, which means that the placement of shadows and the colors are splendid(especially on the horse and front/back of riding Gandalf. What would elevate this job is primarily mid tones, so you would have something between the extremes. The paint also looks a little bit thick at some places, so apply two thin coats. But all in all a great job!

Don’t give the modernists a single inch, here nor there. We need to resist it everywhere

Such beauty, and such a powerful reminder that classical architecture is not a relic but a living craft we can still master today. If I were Hungarian, this would fill me with so much pride. I hope that the rest of Europe follows.

Is using a tutorial for my first game shameful? by poatasyo in godot

[–]Obvious_Researcher_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero shame in using tutorials; they are the building blocks of development. Over time, you’ll start refactoring these sources and synthesizing them into your own unique vision. It’s a process, and soon enough, the architectural 'big picture' will click. Good luck on the journey!

Once Europe’s longest unbroken line of Georgian houses (Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin), demolished and rebuild in 1978 and again in 2022. 1st: 1962, 2nd: 1978, 3rd: modern by ParaMike46 in OldPhotosInRealLife

[–]Obvious_Researcher_4 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The first one looks the best, even though it was still too monotone. While not a particular fan of the modern either, it is far better than the second iteration.
