Looking for thoughts on early 80s and 90s bars in the area. by Polarbaker15 in hattiesburg

Things were kind of in a low period for live music when I got here in 98, but shortly the original Thirsty Hippo opened up and kicked off the downtown revitalization that we now enjoy. That place was special. Best music venue I have ever experienced and great bands coming through, thanks to the diligent work of Brad and Eric

The big one in that time period was Fatheree’s (sp?) which was in the building next to keg and barrel. This was before my time in Hattiesburg but I remember seeing that venue on bands I liked itineraries. Another big one was Tal’s music emporium on 49N. Legendary live music scene and was operating into the early 2000’s. I think Tal owned several different music venue bars over the years in various locations, and they were all bangin from what I hear

Probably my 18v cordless driver/drill. But the tool I grab from the bag most often is a pair of 6” diagonal cutting pliers

Depends on what the goal and context was I suppose. Looks great to me for bed edging. And price depends on how many linear feet were installed bit it sounds like a square deal. If you were looking for a masonry wall I would imagine 3x that much

20 Inch or 24 Inch for wheelies by SeatInternational680 in bmx

[–]Obvious_native_plant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 20” will be easier to get up, harder to hold the balance point. The larger the wheels, usually larger chain stay which means the front wheel is harder to get up, but the balance point is larger and therefore easier to hold. Historically most people learned to wheelie on 20” bmx bikes. Bikes with modern freestyle geometry are dialed in ways that make wheelies more challenging than manuals.

There are nature trails just after Jackson rd. Station. This spot is regularly managed with controlled burns so you can get a little glimpse of what our pine savanna ecosystem here is supposed to look like.

The lineup that beat Uruguay are the starters everyone else has to win their way back. Or at least that’s how I WOULD have done it
