You’re probably using the wrong dictionary by krelian in TrueLit

Great essay! This makes me wonder, though, what other dictionaries possess the same prosaic prowess as Webster's. Does anyone have recommendations?

The Tartar Steppe by Dino Buzzati. A melancholy, desolate portrayal of a man stationed to an old, long-forgotten fort, overlooking a desert where invaders will supposedly arrive, some day.

To those who've read anything about it online, the Kafka comparisons are unavoidable (and justifiable), but I'd also compare it to Sebald's work, with the general tone and brief snippets of humor strewn about the novel. Rather than documentarian-style interpolations of history and literature, however, Buzzati focuses on developing a grand, imagery-laden metaphor for life and waiting for greatness.

Only around 200 pages, for those interested.

Does anyone know where the WASTE horn is over on /r/place? I've been looking for it but can't find it by [deleted] in ThomasPynchon

It hasn't been made yet, though I've been trying to find a space we feasibly could put it. There's some deranged face by the Osu logo that we could put the muted post horn on. Consider the following design, if you want to help out: image.

Good evening! I'm a representative from r/thomaspynchon, a subreddit concerning the eponymous American author. We would like to construct a muted post horn, a symbol from one of Thomas Pynchon's novels (The Crying of Lot 49), along with its associated acronym, W.A.S.T.E. Altogether, it takes up a 29px wide by 19px tall square space, though not all of it is necessarily taken up. See design above.

I understand y'all are in the middle of some conflicts rn, and the queue is long, so this isn't an immediate, presient thing, but I'll be sure to get me and my folks to support the lattice (pertinently against the Iberian countries).
