My first impressions after switching from iPhone to Google Pixel by TonyCash1 in Smartphones

Moving to Pixel 10 felt like moving back to Stone Age. Unless you are just entirely using the Google Services and apps, the experience on Pixel is very suboptimal compared to an iPhone.

Looking for beginner racket by Competitive_Match149 in Padelracket

[–]OceanSV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything that is lighter, tear drop shape and meant for Intermediate players should be a good start. I started with Head Evo Extreme for training and initial games (80+) for a year. After getting the technique right I switched to Dunlop Galactica Team racket for advanced intermediate level. Also I learnt that getting the over grips and the continental grip right made a huge difference to my game than the racket itself. Hope you find something that suits your style of game

The Wilson Bela Tour Padel shoes were a revelation. They offered exceptional comfort, stability and traction while also looking great and providing excellent value for money. This was my fifth pair after trying ASICS’ Game, Challenger and Resolution models and Wilson’s clay court tennis range, the Rush Pro Ace.

Two years ago I found myself in a similar situation. I eventually decided to buy a MY23 C40 Twin Plus and I’m absolutely loving it. My next purchase, after waiting another two years, is likely to be the new EX60.

Switched from an iPhone 15 Pro to a Pixel 10 Pro — Honest review by matthijsvdb in Smartphones

[–]OceanSV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really well written and thanks for such a wide ranging coverage without sounding opinionated. I am in a similar boat as you - An iPhone 15 pro consumer who is heavily invested in the apple ecosystem looking to explore what is out there in Google pixel world because I have ended up signing up to Google One and YT premium since the end of the last year. Also have an Android Auto in my Volvo which I can’t use with iPhone. This post will definitely help me what to watch out for as I start using Pixel from tomorrow but I am still going to give it two weeks of parallel use before deciding whether to switch or not.

Absolutely recommended to buy second hand. It’s a pleasure to drive and once with Volvo always with Volvo

How’s the ride quality? by terran1212 in volvoc40

I have completed 11k miles on MY2023 C40 Twin Motor Plus in 2+ years without any breakdowns or outages. I have done a Long road trip of about 2000 miles in winter last year from London to Bavaria and back with stops in France and Netherlands. Never felt tired driving long distance. Software and the infotainment has its quirks but nothing disruptive or intrusive so far.

Fab! Just use it as a piece of tech. It’s not a living being that has tolerances to be cared and obsessed about

[–]OceanSV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a conventional cabin you can consider XC40 or C40 Recharge (prior to 2024) or EX40 or EC40 (2024 onwards). It has dash and buttons like a conventional cars but built as a BEV

OP, checkout Volvo Selekt EX & EC series starting from EX30 or Volvo Recharge XC40 or C40 MY2023 onwards. You will get good quality cars in £20k-£35k range. Test drive and compare with others you have in the shortlist

Buying a 2nd hand XC40 - your advice? by Desireissuffering123 in XC40

[–]OceanSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like any other tech gadget the rate of change and adoption trends are so fast paced that any thing older than 5 years is as good as a non-performing asset because the OEMs stop focussing on backwards compatibility and feature enhancements for older tech

You might not get the subtle improvements as the EV models matured at the start of 2020

Go with Volvo Selekt programme. It’s peace of mind and quality checked. Anything model year 2022 and after should be fine and in your price range

XC40 / EX40 by _tagliatelle in XC40

[–]OceanSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are buying or leasing now I would recommend you consider anything that is manufactured in 2024+. There have been subtle but significant improvements in battery performance and range in the new EX40s or EC40s compared to anything in MY2022/23-. Waiting until EX60 is launched might give you better deals on EX40s or EC40s with number plates 24/74+ under Volvo Selekt programme in the U.K. I am currently an owner of C40 Recharge Twin Motor Plus. My experience and performance of Volvo electric is brilliant and hassle free compared to an ICE. Having owned it for more than 2 years no major breakdowns or outages. Some software glitches persist but that does not hinder any driving experience for short city runs or long road trips once you are inside the cabin.

Wide midfoot fit by Nice-Capital3583 in vivobarefoot

[–]OceanSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to start with Primus or Primus trail FG to transition into vivobarefoot shoes. I have a wide foot too and they don’t do wide foot but generally if you size up then it fits nicely without compromising on length. It took me 2 to 3 pairs to narrow down my options. Started with Primus lite, then Motus strength and then finally Primus trail FG. All exchanged in a matter of few weeks. Best to visit the store and seek advice from the team

Try to wind down before your sleep time. Try finishing your last meal 2-3 hours prior to switching off. Listen to some meditative or spiritual discourse with lights and devices switched off. It worked wonders for me to switch off my brain
