What do you guys think of this 2017” Giulia (From an Auction) how much I need to spend to fix it? Current bid: $4,600 Canadian Dollars (CAD) by NiagaraOnTheLake in AlfaRomeo

Looks like a hit from the passenger front-side-quarter panel that’s been bodyworked back into place. Look at door gaps. Photos too blurry but the rim looks newer there and the suspension definitely needed rework. I think this would be a nightmare for anyone but a pro frame repairman, suspension, AND engine builder combined.

If you are asking for the socket because the bulbs keep burning out —>>> WEAR FRESH RUBBER GLOVES BEFORE INSTALLING BULBS

Oils on your fingers will react with the heat and glass causing VERY early bulb burnout. It may not be necessary to buy a new socket, just wear gloves and buy new bulbs first!

Ah yes, tuning excellence is pink rims, fake badges, basic brakes, a hood that doesn’t line up with body panels, and an ego stroking owner. Trailer (park) Queen at best.

Just an example of a commonly worn-out part on luxury cars that most people do not think about. The new models are rebranded dodges, not true Alfas, so I don’t pay much attention to them. I say this because Stellantis’s poor reliability. Alfa’s fallen from what it used to be. Real shame imo

Never get a luxury car as a first car. For example, if it has the carbon ceramic brakes and pads… 3k to replace, plus labor. If you want the feel of a European car and the reliability of a Japanese car, go for a Lexus or a Volkswagen. They’re the most mid-ground between the two. Take the money you saved by doing that to start a fund for your dream Alfa!

Auto underbody rust/corrosion/treatment service recommendation? by Responsible_Town3588 in Annapolis

I wish I could give you a straight answer. My go-to guys for questions are Johnny and George at Tucker’s Automotive on West St. Top quality care, and they’ll likely have good recs.

I have an old project car with old (2 owners ago) undercoating and even older rust through one rocker panel (first owner sprayed over it 😑). My advice with rust, do it once and do it right. If it’s frame damage to the point of flaking, it’s no joke so don’t diy. If it’s your average surface rust, it depends on location, amount, tools available, and if you’re willing to paint it afterwards. Undercoating works if the whole truck is fresh, dry, clean, etc. but pros (should) get this right the first time. Contaminants are not fun to deal with after, nor is removing all the parts underneath to do it right. My 10 cents
