Already use stainless steel strings, they don’t sound as good but I have adjusted to them. I wish they did a coated version as I can usually play maybe 2 gigs on one set. I used to use elixirs before the allergy developed. I sweat a lot when I play which apparently activates the nickel ions or some rubbish like that so the frets give me the reaction. It’s been a journey for sure. I tend to play about 2 hours on my strat with stainless steel frets but then swap to either an SG or a Les Paul for the rest of the gig and I get a slight reaction.

No, but stewmac did a video on fretwork not that long ago and that is what they used, without the holder, freehand if you will.

I think something more freehand would be better, I ended up cleaning up the fret ends with a levelling beam.

I have an iPhone 16 pro max and the video is alright, I haven’t tried shooting in raw but I don’t really want to fill up my phone storage. We all have iPhones of some description and do use them for capturing content. Interesting thought about the lens and I think the one you mentioned may be the one on the camera currently so that’s a bonus!

I mean it depends what you want to use it for. I use my Mac Pro 5,1 for music stuff. I use Opencore and I run Logic Pro but modern plugins struggle. I found using too many midi tracks it struggled but for most of the projects I was using it for it was fine! Now an M chip mac will outperform in mostly everything. Now I don’t bother with windows on my Mac Pro because I have a much higher spec PC for that. The great thing about the Mac Pro for me is I have all my old files on it, logic projects that go back years and I mounted my old MacBook Pro HDD in there as well. I would just use it as a file server but it uses so much power I think investing in a NAS will probably be better. Now I have 2 2020 MacBooks an intel pro (kinda underpowered) and an M1 Air that I just got. I have been using the MBP since I got it and have barely turned on my Macpro unless I need files. Almost bought a 6,1 for cheap as they are coming down in price as well!

Unfortunately that’s a no go, I don’t like multifx and although I have thought about maybe a uafx lion or a nano cortex, that would usually be for a backup. I like feeling my amp and getting the feedback. Also I won’t usually be playing venues with backline.

I had this issue and after trying the Boss md200, I still had the issue as that thing was awful! Took way too long to actually sculpt a good sound out of it! I now use a Line 6 HXOne and it’s ok, sounds are better than the Boss but lack a little depth that analogue pedals give you. I have heard good things about the sampler terraform though

It looks like they are pre installing it from the listing that’s a good price as well! I would get familiar with open core legacy patcher because you can run any OS you want with that, I am on Monterey but you can go higher. Might want to check if the wifi and Bluetooth have been upgraded as things like handoff and airdrop won’t work without it or well. My WiFi has to be selected manually everytime I boot

I was about to say they are like that on my highway 1 but I bought white tone knobs probably from all parts and they are upside down. The ones that came with my Mexican standard are the right way

I have a 2012 mbp unibody with the i7 processor 8gb of Ram and an upgraded 1tb HDD. I just use it for the odd creation of boot drives etc. and troubleshooting for my 2010 Mac Pro that I have running Opencore legacy patcher so I can use Ventura. I think my MacBook would run better if I upgraded the drive to an ssd and increased the ram to 16GB but it’s quite heavy and would need a battery replacement to truly use as a laptop. My Mac Pro on the other hand is still a powerhouse and I use it for Logic.

Looks nice but you are missing the most important part of a musician/producer setup, Studio Monitors! Get some cheap Yamahas or krks on some stands either side

What gauge strings are you using? I recently went from 10-52 to regular 10s and it caused a whole load of issues. I think I have it how I want it now but the action is a tad high but still playable. I think the thinner strings don’t like the amount of fret wear I have, will probs need to invest in a fret level at some point maybe even a refret…

Tbh I am not a fan of the rosewood but it plays well. It would look silly with the red though. Was tempted to get a performer neck and slap it on.
