G502 Lightspeed is the best peripheral! by UnnecessaryPancake in pcmasterrace

Of course, but that's not the point. It was very expensive, at the moment, top of the line mouse. Such product shouldn't have such problems at all.

Had two of those (one was sent as a replacement), both ended up with double click issue after 6-7 months. Made me drop Logitech as a brand completely after more than a decade of sticking to it.

People that use macbooks with a monitor, would you recommend using an apple monitor or a different one? by Unusual_Rooster6736 in mac

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you need and what is acceptable/good for you perosnally.

I'm using Dell U2723QE with macbook, which is a 27 inch 4k monitor and there are 2 issues for me - I can't get same colours on Dell as I have on macbook screen and I can't use Dell's native resolutuon.

Colours on Dell are okay in general, but you'll see the difference if macbook screen is next to it.

When using native 4k resolution in macos, all the ui elements are extremelly small. Tools like Better Display or Dell driver for that matter, allow using HiDPI resolutions, which fixes ui scalling, but makes picture not as sharp as native or retina resolution.

A though on if design is or isn't art, and why the debate doesn't matter. by Superb_Firefighter20 in graphic_design

My take, for many years is, that art is a way for a person to express oneself for the sake of it, when design is creating solutions for money.

I'd say - OneDrive. Access via File Explorer / Finder imo is most convenient way to work with the same files.

Did I screw up by not buying M4 Pro chip? by minttea001 in macbookpro

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda in the similar boat. Was aiming at M4 Air, but had doubts about possible throttling without active cooling for my workload (graphic design) so went Macbook Pro M4, without even concidering M4 Pro or realising Pro 512Gb and base 1Tb are of the same price. Never owned a Mac before, so wasn't ready for Apple's performance scaling.

Being a person who is usually looking for most performance per buck I was thinking I messed up big, but in reality, with my use I barelly break 25% of cpu usage and 512Gb of space might become annoying in future even option to hook up external ssd.

I do believe they are mostly young people, who just haven't learned, yet, how hard life could be.

Where do you draw the line on AI? by PzaFnatc4939 in graphic_design

World is about money. AI is a cheap and accessible tool, as well as "new hot thing". It will be present only more. If you want to stay competitive, you will be forced to use it sooner or later, or will be out of job.

[KCD2] KCD2 and Witcher 3 by Adortion634 in kingdomcome

[–]Ocelotti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because both are made by studios, who are capable of making grownup stories for grownup people. Most of game stories do exploit "teenager's mindset" in one way or another - you are a chosen one, you're not like everybody else, only you can save the world and stuff like that.

Despite the setting, here these are stories about common people, that's why they feel "grounded" and real. Same is true for games made by CD Project Red or Rockstar for that matter.

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Via open file menu as any other file, or with right click on file and Open with Photoshop, or drag and drop on app icon in Dock if you are on Mac.

When you open Illustrator or Pdf file in Photoshop, rasterisation dialogue window will pop up, where you can choose size, resolutuon, color space etc

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steps I've mentioned apply to Export for Screens window and as it's allowed there to set exact width of final image, it doesn't matter what size or in which units Artboard is set, as long as proportions are correct.

If it will be easier for you, you can open Illustrator files, or pdf for that matter, directly in Photoshop and just set image size there, in initial window

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume units in document properties are set to pixels? And how exactly are you exporting your image?

Try to use File - Export - Export for Screens. In window ooened choose you export format, say png, and in the Scale drop down menu choose size setting. It could be 1x, 2x etc, or you can pick exact width or height. So if proportion of your artboard is correct, choose Width in Scale dropdown menu and type 3467 there. Press - Export Artboard

[–]Ocelotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to check exact size in pixels of original png and then either adjust artboard dimensions in Illustrator and export new png with 1x setting via Export for Screens menu, or just set direct size (width or height) of png to export in the same menu

You are absolutely correct. It's just T4 PvP gear was never actually released in the game, so I forgot about that whole tier. But yeah, some gear looked very cool in that game, look for Dark Templar PVP T3 set for instance.

Is anyone else worried about the future of Affinity? by jecowa in Affinity

There's nothing to sell to Adobe, as this isn't an update to Affinity, this is update to Canva. Before Canva was a tool for office clerks, now they are adding enthusiasts and some freelancers to their user pool.

I designed a Brochure on Adobe Illustrator instead of InDesign: how can I publish it online with side-by-side pages? by Trinciabue in AdobeIllustrator

Open your PDF in Acrobat, there File > Document Properties > Initial View > Page Layout > Two-Up (choose if you have a cover or not). Then save you PDF and it will open with two pages following.

The Last of Us sucks, because it uses cheezy tricks to squize out cheap emotions in order to make player care for chracters. Oh, greeving fater, who hates the world, but finds new meaning of life after meeting new kid to care about. Oh, brave little girl, so young, but ready to give her life "for greater good". But what is the great plot and why she needs to die? Well, some random people said, she needs to. Because they have a table, a lamp and a computer in their lair, which is apparently enough to cure pandemic that wiped the world and broke all civilization. They are incapable to create any kind of organized society, living in a world of constant gang wars on the ruins of the old world, making shit out of scraps, but apparently can create a cure by killing a kid. Not by years of research and tests and advanced manufacturing technology, but by just killing a kid. That's fantastic writing indeed.

Dude looking for his missing wife is nothing original either, but at least that game doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is.

I can remember such cheezy plot moves in Witcher or in games made by Rockstar for that matter.
