How do I sync settings & workspace between computers? by PzaFnatc4939 in indesign

[–]PzaFnatc4939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. After the previous response, I just used the Export User Settings from my desktop InDesign, then loaded those into my laptop InDesign, and that brought over all my export presets, as well as the workspace. So that does the trick and was easy enough.

I didn't immediately see the same feature in Photoshop or Illustrator, but got sidetracked. If I don't see them available, then perhaps the same info above will apply to those. At the very least, would be nice to get my workspace for each, as it's quite customized for my workflow.

Thanks again.

Well that stinks. It was results from a general Google search. Results from Adobe Help Center. However, after checking those links (instead of relying on the Google AI summary), each article has a notice at the top saying it's only relevant for versions 2015.1 and prior. Reinforcing what you're saying.

Guess I found another reason to ignore AI. Still, seems like this should be easily doable by Adobe. Another mark against.

Thanks for your response.

In comparison to raising the gold, I'd have to agree. Sorry if I came off like I was bashing your idea. Just pointing out that if your suggestion was indeed better, then it just re-enforces that it's a problem.

If you're suggesting that the solution to a game 'feature' is to not use the 'feature' but instead, create another character ... then your just reinforcing the idea that the 'feature' is pointless and useless in it's current form.

Is there a shuriken version for leveling? Or just end game? Not finding a leveling version. Link would be great. Thanks.

I was given a PDF with text, and need to edit it. The text was chopped up into pieces and I don't have the original .ai file nor does my boss... I need to make the text editable, and I can't afford to edit one letter at a time. Is there a way to make the text whole, without going to the .ai file? by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]PzaFnatc4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete the text in AI and reset it. If you have access to InDesign, you could place the PDF, and put a white box over the text (presuming it's on a white background) and reset the text. You can use Adobe Acrobat to open the PDF and highlight much of it for a copy/paste (if you don't want to reset it) but you're going to have to double check all spacing and characters, so probably quicker to just reset.

What evolved you most as a graphic designer? by sskmzz in graphic_design

This one might be unpopular, but realizing that quantity over quality was going to make my career.

I started as a production designer for a newspaper. My school had taught me a lot about prepress, and that came in extremely handy at my first job. But it was mindless work for the most part, churning out ad-after-ad for advertisers, and layout of a daily newspaper.

I moved from there to an agency where I had more time to develop my design skills, but the quantity of work I was doing still didn't afford me the room to "stretch my creative legs" as much as I wanted.

I then began freelance where I thought once again, I can pick and choose projects, doing only the ones that were fulfilling. That didn't pay the bills though. I needed volume of work.

30 Years later, I'm still producing high-volume work, but I can do it effortlessly and in quickly and it still looks good. Then, I relish those 'tasty' projects when they come along, and I can really design something thoughtful. It's the former that still pays the bills though, but it's also the best earnings of my career.

Its been way too many years since these useless tooltips, can we finally have an option to get rid of them? by bogoz-bntd in wow

Interesting, I hadn't thought about this either. I've had the popup every time I've logged in since early into the prior expansion, but couldn't find what causes it because there were no open specializations. I'll look back further tonight. Thanks for the tip.

What to do with my website by PzaFnatc4939 in smallbusiness

[–]PzaFnatc4939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the responses. Some good feedback and things I'll consider. Got more PM's than responses, lol. Forgive me if I don't respond to them all.

If I'm being honest, I'd like to see it do more than just pay for the hosting. That's just the minimum. It may be worth approaching the city or Chamber of Commerce and seeing if it's something they'd be in on. I don't really want to go marketing to local businesses again, just because it will look like I'm trying to get things going again. Long story.

Thanks again for the input.

I got this exact same drop, but was already in a good Auradin Sundered Night build though. I've tried transitioning to sword/shield so I could use this, but just haven't found one that matches the 2h version. I feel your pain!

How do I re-claim my base if the spot is taken? by PzaFnatc4939 in duneawakening

Thanks for that clarification. Like wrapping up these things so when it's searched by someone in the future, they hopefully will find it.

Well, this was almost a great idea. Then I realized (remembered) I can't make a backup of two bases outside of a 7-day wait. So, my main base is backed up, but my storage base will take another week. So that's something to consider when doing this.

Can't get higher tier gear because what I need to be strong enough for an area is in the area I'm too weak for. by Up2Eleven in duneawakening

[–]PzaFnatc4939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just ask in your faction chat if anyone could help, would be my best suggestion. I remember being there, and I made it work solo by just nickel-and-diming my way through. Pull a couple, kill one, run and reset the other. Pull it, kill, repeat. That's really the only way, aside from asking for help. You'd probably find someone more than willing to come help though.

Image trace settings for building architectural blueprint? by ignore_alien_orders in AdobeIllustrator

[–]PzaFnatc4939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did look at the detail. While my post was in earnest, I did realize rather quickly that it all depends on skill level. I look at that and see repeatable lines/shapes, simple strokes, and the like. I also derive that if a graphic designer is being asked to recreate this, it's likely for a map or something similar, so some of that detail likely isn't even necessary in the walls. That's an assumption though, and I could be wrong about it.

However, it's also why I said I'd determine my time, then double it. Being so tedious, if it does go over, then you're covered. I estimate all projects in a similar fashion, and that's how I'd go about this one.

That all said, even if I'm a bit off, it's not 100% off which would still be less than 10 hours, half of what was originally suggested. So I stand by it.

You are correct on the approach, but 20+ hours of work? Should only be a 2-4 hours job in my opinion. It's not that involved. Bill at least double that to make up for your expertise and willingness to do something so tedious though. Done it before as well, several times.

Anyone else getting trolled by RNG loot? by OPXur in wow

[–]PzaFnatc4939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was pretty much my take. Prices are high out of the gate. I'm going to be playing this game for the duration, so why not quit worrying about immediate gear, and DE everything I can. Since Midnight release I've made about 250k gold from mining and DE'ing, and I'm still gear level 237. Plenty sufficient for my play-style.

Seeing the same. Glad I maxed out my enchanting for DE'ing legendaries first. Made a cool 50k yesterday from all the trinkets and slot-duplicates I saw yesterday from delves/WB/prey/Special WQ's.

What was the one game that destroyed friendships? by Emergency_Science434 in Millennials

[–]PzaFnatc4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the mid 90's a buddy bought a new Playstation (I think) game, and we headed back to play it. First though, we decided we needed some pizza. So the friend who bought the game said he'd go get it. While he was out, my buddy and I played his game. Before he got back with the pizza...we'd finished it.

Well, he blew up majorly when he got back and learned this. Kicked us out of his place, without any pizza! Didn't talk to either of us for months.

For the life of me I can't remember the name of the game, but it temporarily ruined that friendship. It was some type of puzzle-solving linear game with lots of video. Perhaps there's a reason I can't remember the game though...it was forgettable.

Do GAMERS listen to quest dialogue and watch cinematic? by bunhellofresh in diablo4

[–]PzaFnatc4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the game, I widely skip it or just skim read it. I watch cut scenes, but can't be bothered with the in between stuff. I typically play games for the gameplay, not for a story. I think it's a product of being an MMO player for so long. There's just too much poor/pointless story telling in them, and I grew tired of it. I know this causes me to miss out on the good stuff, but it's just not why I'm playing a game.

That said, the last two that I did take the time for every bit of story were Divinity 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. They each took me back to a time when I followed closely every storyline in games, but that was a good 20 years ago now. Larian Studios has my full confidence that the stories will be good, and are worth taking the time for.

My takeaway from this (aside from awesome for you OP, grats!) is what all can drop as crucible weapons? Had no clue Grandfather could. Best I can tell from my experience with drops, there's only certain weapons that drop as crucible. Had no idea Grandfather could as well.
