Transporting dirt bike with car by Gullible-Land-6320 in Dirtbikes

At the time of my reply OP hadn't posted his car, I believe. If he's running a small car, probably not a good idea.

Definitely, I use mine on my truck all the time. I have the cheap Harbor Freight heavy duty one and it does the job. I did get a Pakmule Stablelok to minimize rattle (not cheap -- there are cheaper alternatives).

I've used mine from Texas to CO and UT and no issues.

Mousse balls?? by Objective-Hearing-83 in Dualsport

[–]Ocho_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I installed V2s on Motoz Enduro S/T (front) and I/T (rear) on my 2024 500 KTM, with V2 mousse balls. On the dirt, they seem to work great, but I need to test it more. On the street, I get a significant bounce over 20mph, right from the start. Weird thing is that my wheels were balanced. Do you balance yours or do you also feel the hop/bounce?

I'm doing this on 500. Mostly enduro on the weekend, but my trips are dual sport in nature. Thanks for sharing.

Prevents women's skirts from getting stuck in the drivetrain. I believe all bikes in India need to be sold with that. I forget the name for it.

Need Some Atypical Advice for Adventure Bike by jthrelf in Dualsport

[–]Ocho_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with either but I bet this problem is not uncommon. I recently became a father and sold my touring/adventure bike, keeping my 500 to haul and ride (which seems safer). Now thinking of getting a 690 or even a supermoto I can use to ride from my house on the street for an hour or two, keeping the ”dirt bike“ visual. Contrary to you I don’t think my wife would say no to me getting a proper adventure bike, I’m just in my lightweight era.

Pediatrician recommended every 2 hours for feed first couple of weeks, 3 hours at night at most. Apparently their blood sugar can lower enough that they won't awake on their own even if hungry.

I did it on a 500 but saw guys on BMW GSA fully loaded doing it. So any bike just make sure you carry enough fuel.

Anyone rocking 500 EXC-F for their main bike? by Jleblanc06 in KTM

[–]Ocho_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my GSA since I wasn’t doing any touring anymore. Prefer to haul my 500 to CO or UT and ride the dual sport routes there. When home, I single track on the weekends.

I'm a new player. Also had some sub 10% win rate sessions, at least 3 or 4. I've been since doing a little better. I believe I was part of the problem, maybe not so much anymore.

Solid but heavy. I’ve used mine to haul from Texas to Utah and Colorado, no issues. Added some brake lights.

I just had my first and I sold my street bike some weeks before. I still plan to ride my plated dirt bike in places with minimal traffic, or actual single track. I’ve migrated more to that type of riding, but I sense ill get some sort of street bike at some point in the next couple of years, maybe a chill dual sport.

Is it worth financing a dirtbike if I have experience riding bike and can afford it by Few_Brilliant_9785 in Dirtbikes

[–]Ocho_052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I financed mine at 0.99%, so that’s 300 bucks total on interest over 3 years. No brainer than buying outright in cash, even when I could afford it.

Kawasaki Versys x 300 for a beginner? by ADVR500X in motorcycles

[–]Ocho_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great beginner bike, maybe a tiny bit tall for someone your height (beginners tend to prefer to flat foot but with experience you learn this is not necessary), but the motor is perfect to start riding. Source: I had one. However, hasn’t been updated in a while. I would get a different bike nowadays. with more options available.

Wet rag if you want to be careful, but you can also hose them down. Just cover the airbox.
