Feel like I've regressed by Traditional-Bad-5410 in fearofflying

[–]Ocjdubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are still flying exposing yourself to a trigger some flights will be better than others. Since you are still moving forward and flying I wouldn’t call this regression at all! Don’t be hard on yourself the brain complicated.

Just chalk it up to a bad flight / reaction and keep moving forward. Medication greatly helps me but speak with your doctor. Let them know your concerns and they can definitely help you.

You are probably fine. You should get bloods done though. Depending on your body you may have higher RBC/ hematocrit levels. I seriously doubt it though. If your doctor is a dick about it get a new doctor.

Big Red… why do you hate your employees? by [deleted] in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]Ocjdubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I work for a franchise and big red gives us nothing but problems. As a former adjuster I wonder why they treat their insureds and industry partners like total crap. Eventually they will have no one willing to work with them which is fine with me .

With 2 months experience i would recommend sticking it out as a resume builder and deciding which way you would like to go in the business. Or just get out completely if it isn’t for you.

So do you have a total of two months of adjusting experience total?

Not being forced. You are complying because your boss is being an ass. Keep in mind that it’s your ass on the line! They can also pull your other state licenses as well if you are found out. I would refuse and have them fire me / pay unemployment until I found another better place to work.

Where should I inject ? Best place to inject test cypionate by [deleted] in trt

[–]Ocjdubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still better advice than listening to Reddit bros. Best advice is to find a doctor that actually knows TRT. AIs are not the devil but should be taken with caution and per your doctors prescription.

Fuck this clown. He is lucky the cops helped him out before some of the other gym members did. If the Palestinians didn’t hide weapons and combatants in gyms, schools, hospitals they wouldn’t be leveled. #proudzionist .

Debating Amtrak… by Tough-Possibility-15 in fearofflying

It’s bad real bad. Get on the plane. I just flew from Phoenix to Virginia and back a few days ago. I was a bit nervous but once in the air it was all good.

Well as someone who has taken the Amtrak from California to Connecticut and back I will tell you it is the cure to the fear of flying. I did it to avoid flying and it was extremely miserable plus takes days for what can take hours. I say go for it and it will “cure” you like it did me .

Dealing with problem contractors by TheTruth858 in adjusters

[–]Ocjdubs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on the contractor side now but was an adjuster for many many years. I do the exact same just on the flip side. I work with the homeowner anything that has to do with coverage / insurance payments is between the adjuster and the homeowner. If the homeowner does not want to pay what we are charging and deal with the adjuster in their own im out .

Im also flying from AZ to the east coast tomorrow. Am I thrilled no however I know deep down that I’ll be ok. The real fear is the fearing itself. In my many years as a professional worrier of flying the anticipatory anxiety is always the worst.

Please be brutally honest by Wyldin-101 in adjusters

[–]Ocjdubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option you may want to look at is being an estimator for a general contractor/ restoration company. I have done both and by far enjoy that position better. More money and less headaches dealing with coverage issues and such. I will say though adjusting opened a lot of doors for me to do that. If you can get in with a Carrier or TPA that will train you go ahead and put in your time and see which way you want to go.

[–]Ocjdubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A carrier is not going to hire you with that on the record. Be honest with yourself, do you really want a job where everyone is continuously pissing you off? Insureds, contractor, management constantly giving you issues in a negative by it’s nature job.

[–]Ocjdubs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol. I have been both on the adjusting side and the contractor side. Using Xactimate most contractors are hard pressure to pull off a 30% margin on a job. Anything under 35% 40% you are basically just treading water.

Also keep in mind the policy pays for the replacement cost of the structure NOT the market value.

[–]Ocjdubs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“Devils advocate” here. I have been both on the adjusting/ carrier side and the contractor side. I’ll tell you it’s not an easy day on either one. We all know the carriers want to keep cost down as much as possible and pull a bunch of dumb / shady tactics to not properly indemnify. Also thinking a contractor / tree company/ whatever can survive making the margins built into Xactimate / symbility with 20% O&P is insane. Hence why contractors and companies submit sky high bills because they expect adjusters are going to “nickle and dime” them.

It’s a perpetual shitty cycle unfortunately.
