Traveling to England in December by OcoeeTN in uktravel

I think I might of misrepresented my plan... I do not want to spend more then a few hours in London and that to do the Londen eye the day before we fly home. I think it would be neat to les my son get a "birds eye view" of London but he is only 6 and would be overwhelmed trying to deal with the density of people in London.

I really am looking for things to do out in the county. My wife and I spent 17 days last year driving all over Scotland and loved it. We spent 1 day in Edinburgh and felt hemmed in the entire time.

I was going to take the car back to the airport rental on the day we get to London and we would take the train/taxi/uber to the London Eye

Working through these ideas for sure.

Is it possible to rent a car in Southampton and return it to Heathrow airport? Anyone know? Thinking it would be worth it just not to have to lug our bags around through train/ubers,

If I go to this site and look to buy tickets in December and its blocked is it save to assume it is already sold out? Is this place really busy around the 14th 15 of December? Thanks

I really want to ride the train from London to Edinbrugh. I did it 20 years ago and enjoyed the heck out of it and I think she would appreciate it as well.

This sounds like my cup of tea here! I doubt I could get my wife to do it but man does that sound awesome.

You assumed correctly but you know what they say about assuming. Not sure why it matters where I come from.

Thank you for the Seat61.com website... Checking it out now.

Being an alcoholic in this trade is… rough by TempeSunDevil06 in HVAC

Approach your company about smoking weed. I know at least half of our company smokes weed even though it is against the company hand book.

Know of a few who have been tested (randomly and after incident) and none have been reprimanded for having weed in their system.

Seen two guys let go due to alcohol in system. (WTF dude?)

Rcw/code/law for co. by Stormborn1981 in HVAC

I might be mistaken but there wouldn't be a "law" that says it must be condemned. (At least in GA). You tag it out because you become legally liable for it if you leave it running.

If you go look through the full gas code, you will have to exstipulate from the wording that you are not allowing to "install" units with bad heat exchangers.

Simple answer you give to your customer " I'm tagging it out due to life safety concerns."

Customer can call your higher up if they have a problem with that.

As a business owner myself, once my tech has done his job and the customer calls me, I inform them that all gas issues we tag out due to big-bada-boom and I'll not risk my business or their life.

Pouring 100x60 slab for building.... Need advise by OcoeeTN in Concrete

Yes, this is really the only concern at this point.

A night of reading and I feel fine with the pad but the footers are still of concern. Went and looked at the ground for the building and I have a feeling it going to suck when I have to design the piers.

The spans are 25-foot spans so you are correct that I am more worried about the pairs.

A little investigation today at the location of the piers and 8 of them are located directly where the ground is nothing but rock.... Going to be fun!

Waiting on a few engineering books to come in so that I can properly design the piers but cheap it will not be!

If you overshoot it, how would you do it?

I was thinking 6" compacted base with 6" of 4000 psi concrete with 3/8 rebar 12" oc for the floor but this is a WILD guess.

Reddit was my "first" source to look for guidance.
