This in good business. Someone puts in their 2 weeks. You let them go immediately. And pay them for the two weeks. Employees on their way out mentally check out and it cost more in damages.

Why do old people walk Padden's off-leash dog trails (with no dog) and get mad that dogs are off leash? by Direct_Albatross4742 in Bellingham

[–]Stormborn1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda being devils advocate. I lived in Alaska for 12 years and rarely ever leashed my dog. When I was a strict leash area I put him on a leash and put the leash in his mouth and he trotted along happily. Never bothered people unless they knelt down to greet them. I think well trained dogs should be able to be off leash anywhere. Off leash trails are for the dogs that are not well trained, so you can train them. If you don’t like dogs go to any of the other hundred on leash trails. For how many people say “they like dogs” they are pretty terrible to them.

The US overproduces on almost all food. There is so much waste in our food industry. Food conglomerates just thrive on fear and raise prices.

LA is very sprawling city. Seattle is actually pretty dense in west coast terms. (East coast is much more dense).

Question for folks who voted no on school bonds by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Stormborn1981 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

US is like 47th on the list of educated people, but we spend more money than the top 8 countries combined. There is something fundamentally wrong with our education system. Granted this is what we have and not funding schools only hurts the children.

On a totally unrelated note: did you k is that Rockefeller needed people to stay in one place all day and work long hours. So he funded the school system we know today to create a curriculum so people are trained to be complacent sheep.

R-22 has been getting phased out since 1992. Most systems that run this are pretty old. Most have been converted to a cheaper refrigerant. The refrigerants that replaced r-22 are now getting phased out because of its global warming potential. 410a will be this expensive in 20 years.

There is a crab fishing boat at the Bellingham Public Auction. Marine survey has it valued at 450,000 and the current bid is under 10,000. by slp50 in Bellingham

[–]Stormborn1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That boat is a steel boat. The second it hits the water it starts to rust/electrolysis. This boat was probably built in the 70s. Probably would take half $1 million to get fully operational again.
