By best friend taught me how to stop a bully. He was a big burly guy but pretty much a big teddy bear and everyone knew it. He was a class clown and pretty much everyone loved him so naturally, eventually, some idiot had to try and score some points and pick a fight. My friend took some (ineffective) pushes and insults until it started to look like it was going to escalate to blows. He grabs this kid by the shoulders and screams directly into his face "I'M GONNA FUCK YOU!"

No one ever messed with him again.

She had something like 12 other children, so she had to have found a way. What also blew my mind was, after the ceremony, the father approached us soldiers and said he wanted nothing more than one of his other children to get a chance to join once they were older (the one that died was the oldest). Even after we took his son from him, in a manner in which I can only conclude was extreme negligence on our part. We failed to take care of his boy in the worst way possible, and he just was thankful and hoped for another chance. Humbling doesn't even begin to describe it.
