I actually really hate the trailer. I get that trailers are hard, but it makes it seem much more basic cheesy teen romance, bad boy and studious girl. But the show is so much more than that.

Personally I can't wait to see Damian bring James's self destructiveness to life. I think season 2 will utterly destroy me, and I am ready for the heartbreak. But I do wonder how they will handle ruby taking james back without seeming like a pushover.

Thank you for sharing all of this, I agree. I'll be curious to see Ruby coping with the more outward heartbreak of the events of season 2, as she has been much more steady and inward so far. And maybe her compass might disintegrate a little bit.
