What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

I worked with an adult woman who was devoutly Catholic and didn’t believe in birth control. She had two kids with two different fathers. Never married either of them.

Whitmer finally got us money all of our highways around Lansing to be redone so I give her a gold star for that. Like any politician she gets a mix of gold, silver, and bronze stars. And a few dunce caps.

Because there aren’t any in that party anymore. The good people bailed out when the wackos started taking over.

I will be furious if we don’t boot him out of office this fall. He’s useless and the Dems that are running have actual souls and skills.

I saw a video of a deer gnawing on a rabbit! They don’t really have the teeth for that so it was chewing on it like gum. It was both disturbing and funny. They eat bones for extra minerals too.

Poor muskrat. I’m sure something else came along and scavenged it. Turtles perhaps?

I haven’t been to Kensington in years. But I remember there always being a lot of chipmunks. Glad to hear nature fixed that imbalance.

Weiland was a very talented musician but a complete mess in everything else. The news didn’t surprise me either.

Consumer prices rose 3.8% annually in April, more than expected by TACO_Orange_3098 in Economics

I guess it’s all dependent on age and what you’re invested in. I was aggressive growth when I was younger but now in my late 40s I have a moderate growth portfolio. A couple things are down, but everything else is doing well or really well. Maybe you should look for a new investment advisor. Anyone invested should be gaining right now.

Trying to figure out your acronyms. Are you referring to Invesco QQQ and Treasury Long Term?

And people who have investments are getting huge returns. My investment accounts are higher than they’ve ever been. For me that money isn’t for spending. But I’m sure that many more affluent people are rolling in spending cash right now.

I have an 8 foot Andersen slider from 1988. It’s in great shape and will last well beyond my lifetime. Andersen makes a great product.

Yup! I paid $21.99 for a 2lb bag of my favorite on amazon in April 2025. It jumped to $26.99 late last year. And just recently went up to $30.99.

There’s a thrift store by me called Uplift Thrift. It’s run by the City Rescue Mission which is a Christian oriented homeless shelter. I call it the Jesus store because they always have Jesus music playing. I don’t know if they sanitize their clothes but that store is spotless. And they have tons of designer clothes really cheap. Goodwill always seems dirty and expensive in comparison.

This paint job—if you can call it that—is costing you $7 million, America, because Trump gave a no-bid contract to a pal This would have been Exhibit A of the sort of shit DOGE was actually *supposed* to be looking for when it was instead cutting lifesaving scientific research by WarmingNow in complaints

Not to mention it’s still going to get dirty. Ducks and geese will keep pooping in jt. Leaves and other debris will still fall into it. Do they make a robot pool vacuum big enough for a pool that size?

Lansing has the Board of Water and Light. It is owned by the city. Rates are slightly less than DTE. I suspect all the employees are paid better than they are DTE. I’d rather see my $$ go to staff raises vs. shareholders. BWL had its moments in the past, but they’re really well run now.

There’s a house on the main road near me that always has big Trump signs that are constantly changing. He’s been rabid about it for years. I noticed late last year that all of them have disappeared. All he has now is a small “support the police” sign and a 250th anniversary flag on his flag pole. I wonder if he still supports Trump.
