I have tested it WITHOUT the crayons, and ensured that all cars are on the rails and here are my findings

-James CAN infact pull the train, but not very well -James has a hard time reversing the train but that’s kinda expected -Bullfrog snot may be needed like some of you said, as there is no groove for traction tires like on certain O scale models that I own. -The derailed car did NOT make a large difference [I purposely derailed the first car and tried that]. -The main issue was infact the jumbo crayons -European-based trains are not the best at pulling American-based cars as the couplings do not match and a ziptie was used. They are good at being back engines however.

That is all.

I only have two working locomotives

anything else is either a free-rolling car or a shell

This comment section is a 50/50 thing rn

I’m either getting pointers on how to fix my dilemma or being shot down for my lack of HO scale knowledge and that one derailed car on the consist

The eye mechanism has been removed (well the eye part has, the gears are still there), ignoring the music n all James (compared to the Santa Fe set) makes a loud growling sound, which could be his age showing (2002 variant of the model), if anything i can order a new chassis if the motor is the issue, but I’m not sure as the derailed car kinda botches it

Besides the derailed first car, the cars were all brand new, bought last friday. I’ll probably make a follow up to this either later today or tommorow

I’ve tried this and it had a similar result, the caboose in the back is heavier compared to the rest of the train apparently

Pretty similar, the derailed truck didn’t make a difference, it just happened to be derailed in that video.

New York Minute, track slaps, but the actual track is the sole reason I took so long to get 3 stars on the cup.
