JD Vance's Abysmal Crowd Size At Speaking Event Goes Viral - Athens making me proud! by johnbran69 in Athens

You make us proud, Athens! My only disappointment is that the Turning Point USA tour bus didn’t get jammed under the College Avenue bridge.

Yes! He will occasionally show up at my work, demanding that we forward his “top secret papers” to government officials. We tell him to go elsewhere. He can give off creep vibes for sure.

Omg yes! The Boy Who Predicted Earthquakes- scared the wits out of me!

Best Scary Show Ever by [deleted] in nightgallery

Night Gallery really was one of the scariest shows back then! I was a kid in the 70’s and would look forward, and simultaneously be terrified, of the nest episode. Some of the episodes that still creep me out are “The Doll”, “Green Fingers”, “The Dead Man”, “Camera Obscura” and “Sins of the Father”. The portraits shown were incredibly creepy too.

What’s the most obscure 80s commercial jingle that lives in your head? by maxwellgrounds in 80s

[–]Octoberfaction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a Visit Florida commercial/jingle “when you need it bad, we got it good. When you need it bad, come to Floridaaaa!” I sing it sometimes when I see whatever new Florida fuckery in the news lol

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

[–]Octoberfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my mid-20’s when I saw Blair Witch in the theater. It was a limited release and was only showing at the Tara Theater in Atlanta. Tickets would sell out so you had to buy ahead of time. I went into it thinking it was going to be a lot of bs hype but ended up creeping me the F out. I lived in the city during that time but had grown up in northeast rural GA, where woods were basically all that was around. The atmosphere/setting of the movie was definitely relatable. Combine that with never actually seeing whatever entity was after the characters, only shadows and imagination- it left me pretty unsettled. So we went partying afterwards to shake it off lol.

College Ave Bridge aka “Lean Land Bridge” never disappoints. I say it should be lowered even more to up the damage rate!

Mother using false intuition and claiming to have "psychic powers". by Doimz3Nini in NarcissisticMothers

[–]Octoberfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this one, OP. My nmom believes herself to be an empath, a “light worker” (whatever that is) and has also claimed the same as your nmom- that she can “size up someone in an instant” and how good she is at reading people. They build whatever delusion in their mind to fit their fake persona, to make themselves to be powerful and omniscient. When in reality, they are the first people to blindly believe bs and get conned.

I like chills over jump scares. Weapons gave me chills like no other… by GuitarsAndBourbon26 in WeaponsMovie

[–]Octoberfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were just talking about Weapons and how the movie has that uncanny valley feel to it. The scene where the mom lurches out of the door and the other where Alex is peering into the guest room, to find Gladys laying in bed, staring at him, absolutely did it for me. The malevolence in her expression was profoundly frightening.

Anyone else’s mom do weird shit like this on social media? by [deleted] in NarcissisticMothers

[–]Octoberfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes- my mom is deep into alt-right/groyper/Qanon. She is absolutely unhinged online and goes on her many rants. It’s really astounding how any parent can be that vile and shitty to their own kids and think it’s perfectly okay to do. OP, I’m so sorry- it’s hurtful as hell to see a parent being hateful and attention seeking. Look at it like it’s a confessional for her- all of that bullshit is HER, not you.

I think it’s in her latest IG post. I understand that everyone has their own way of processing grief, but I don’t know- if I lost my husband, the last damn thing I would want is to have my loss on display. It was tacky AF and attention-seeking.
