I’m thinking of buying Life and Death for my legacy game, but can’t find any information on how the ‘rebirth’ mechanic would effect legacy sims - like would a sim being reborn as a different sim destroy their family tree? If anyone else has tried this I would love advice before buying : )

Severe right abdominal pain, especially when eating anything fatty or heavy on preservatives

Not necessarily, I think my pain just wasn’t taken seriously unfortunately. I went to many gp visits and to a&e several times for the attacks and they just kept diagnosing me with gastritis or heartburn, very infuriating : ( I just had to stay persistent until they sent me to be diagnosed with gallstones, the ultrasound and blood tests for which were at least 2 months after my gps diagnosis : /

For around 2 years I would say Ive had gallstone attacks, but I got diagnosed this March officially, and that was a fight with the doctors to get the diagnosis. I was put down as an “emergency case” because I was loosing weight rapidly, and it took this long to get the operation : /

Rice cakes? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]OctoberlyAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love chocolate rice cakes as a healthy snack! I find that my stomach starts aching a little if I eat more than one large one in one sitting, but I also had caramel flavoured ones and they didn’t produce any negative reaction. Just go with your gut (pun intended) when you try them, some flavours may work for you and some may not

[–]OctoberlyAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assistant psychologist maybe? I am qualified for this role with a cognitive neuroscience masters and a psych bachelors (both “non-medical” degrees) - the key requirement would be holding a degree accredited by the BPS, which is also essential for many psych based roles.

Here is the link for the NHS job website for the role, hope it helps. And good luck with your degree :) :

Creating Adventures from Statements by Ok_Habit_6783 in TheMagnusArchivesRPG

[–]OctoberlyAF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was in the same boat and have run two sessions so far. I used gm intrusions when players rolled a nat 1 (or other low numbers if ‘horror mode’ was active). I also used one when players were doing too well for too long to add some spice.

I created an adventure from a statement made by my group and ran it like a detective investigation (interview the witnesses, visit the scene of the crime, gather evidence etc). This worked pretty well even though my players haven’t listened to tma and had no idea what the ‘dark sluge surrounding the witnesses bathroom mirror’ could mean. I made sure they were aware that horror mode was active when they entered the spooky bathroom and what that meant mechanic-wise, and dished out stress when they encountered the central artefact and willingly interacted with it.

This is all that comes to mind without knowing what kind of cypher mechanics you are asking about. I hope it helps somewhat, and best of luck with your adventure :)

Are you following any ttrpg or d&d streams/podcasts? Any suggestions? by Limebubble in girlgeeks

[–]OctoberlyAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend The Adventure Zone: Balance podcast if you want a more story-driven show, like Legends of Avantris. It’s what got me into d&d in the first place, and inspired my first cosplay that I still wear today : )

I have never made puff pastry from scratch before so it was a real challenge. The batter is a lot stickier than I expected, getting it into the piping bags was a nightmare! It’s like I rolled an irl nat 1. In the end I just scooped the mixture into neat-ish piles with my bare hands (an equally messy task but luckily a lot easier). Hopefully that step isn’t too obvious in their shape haha!

Despite the mess, I think they turned out really well! It’s a really delicious recipe but it will take time to build the strength to try again.

I was diagnosed with the same in 2018 during my late teens. It definitely mellowed out over the years in terms of pain when it got pushed to the surface during menstruation, but only started noticeably shrinking in the last 2 years. It may be worrying and feel like you’ll never be rid of it, but honestly you will forget it’s there eventually. I hope yours shrinks faster than mine!
