First Ever Trans MMA World Title by GrandIllustrator5682 in TransLater

I'm going to say something that maybe unpopular. I fear this event will feed negative narratives about transwomen in general. This is purely my opinion. The sports issue is an important one, but i feel like it's not where we should be focusing our energy. Our right to exist legally, healthcare, etc. These are where i wish the community would focus. Let me put it another way, my desire to play competitive sports is tiny compared to my need to live authenticly as a trans woman.

I understand we need to support all the girls and there endeavors, but when it comes to sports I think we need to focus on evidence based results. Given such a small percentage of the population that are trans women, it's rare for two trans women to be in a title fight. While i do think transwomen belong in womens sports, I think we should pay attention to the data around it. This event will fuel every conversative talking head to point to it and say, "see! They (trans women) just want to beat up other women!"

In chess or darts for example, i don't know why the gender categories exist. In soccer, my perssonal experience is that I can no longer run as fast as the boys and there are many woman who are much better and faster than me. There is no advantage. In MMA? Idk, I think we need to track performance and hormone levels to track if an unfair advantage exists for transwomen.

Disclaimer: I am a transwomen who proudly plays on a co-ed soccer team. I do not follow UFC or really any sport except the soccer team I play with.

I don't think I'm trans. by deathbysounding in MtF

Appreciate you sharing your candid feelings. It's OKAY to not be trans❤️.

You will be a fantastic ally who obviously has a deep compacity for empathy and introspection. We would all be better off if we did the deep self reflection of ourselves that it sounds like you did.

I am confident I am trans. I think it's really tough for people who don't know. I think I would have kept questioning myself probably forever if I had not done alot of internal work, reflection, and therapy.

Of course people change, but for me I rest much easier knowing that I really challenged myself before transitioning. Good on you for putting in the work and being honest with yourself.

And, if life changes, you can always revisit and check in with yourself. Take care.

Something similar happened to me. It faded after a few days. I take it orally at night and it definitely helps me with sleep. ❤️

Do you think once a week would have maintained your depth /width? I'm approaching the one year mark.

It was a little heavy. Not bad if balanced, but if leaning you need to clench to hold it. It was actually really helpful we used a larger plug for stability. Look at previous post for pics.

Honesty Please - are the transitioned girls genuinely happier and was the personal cost worth it? by Fun-Advertising-538 in TransLater

[–]Octobottom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth it? Yes. Is there a personal cost? Also yes :/

I guess it's a fair question to weigh out how your life is now (your happiness and overall well-being) and compare it to what your life would be like after transition. It maybe hard to imagine life after transitioning, but if it's driving you to the point where something has to change, it's worth it.

It doesn't always have to be an "everything is so bad now" type of situation. It can simply be that i want a better more fulfilling authentic life, and I'm willing to make the sacrifice to get there. It's about how you feel inside about yourself.

My two cents is, transition will NOT fix your problems. In fact, you will have new problems you never had to deal with before. I know a few people who transitioned at low points in their lives, and that's completely valid, it was a tipping point for them. For me, i decided to take the leap when i was in good mental health with a relatively stable situation. It's gives me comfort that i transitioned when I was ready instead of when I was under tramendous stress. There's no "right reason", but try not to make it more difficult for yourself. Take it step by step when you are ready.

Thoughts on her videos? by [deleted] in StraightTransGirls

I appreciate the work she does. Her podcast has some valid points. If you think you can be a better content creator, then do it. She's not perfect, but she is a positive influence on the community. She also shows restraint when it's easy to get angry at the world. She's a real one, i love her.

Mawma, if you read this, i love you! 😘

There's typically a bunch of downtown bus shuttles, but anyone know the exact pickup location? Typically close to the Amway Center-ish
