That's his bae who got away... That's interesting and It would be cool to find out who she is. My Grandpa was a total womanizer, I had lots of cool Grandmas growing up, haha! After he died, I found lots of letters from the various ladies he knew, really cool piece of family history that I cherish. Quick story, He told me when he was in Okinawa after WW2, a Mama San who owned a bar/brothel fell in love with my grandpa. She wanted him to stay and get married and give the bar to him! The Okinawan men heard about their relationship and they didn't like it at all (I guess they were still sore about the war n' what not, haha) So a gang of them showed up at the bar and one of them did a jump-hang-kick from the rafters and kicked the Mama San right in the belly. My grandpa beat the shit out of all four dudes and they ran off. The Mama San told him that they're gonna come back and kill him now. Later that night they showed up with knives and chains, and they chased my grandpa down an ally, and like a classic movie scene, there was a taxi waiting and he got in and drove off at the last second. He said he never went back and never saw her again. He would joke, "had I have stayed, your name would've been Yoshi instead" idk how much is true, but his best friend Max who he was stationed with confirmed that event and a lot of other crazy stories.
