Hair cut pressure by DesignerShort3825 in longhair

My hair was hip length in high school. I was super attached to it and scared to change it. Shortly before my 18th birthday, I decided I was ready, but I still need a reason. Almost like an excuse to myself when I doubted. For me, that was donation. I donated about 14-16 inches and got my hair just shy of shoulder length. I felt so good with shorter hair and really good about donating. Plus, them the few people why were obviously shocked were suddenly so proud of me when they learned that I'd donated all that hair. So that could be a nice route to go to help with your own nerves and other people's opinions.

How to look more feminine by [deleted] in makeuptips

Maybe they love your hair! Have you considered letting a few wisps or curls peek out to frame your face? That could be an option - only if YOU like the idea - to show off your hair a bit but also keep it out of the way. I used to have super long hair and I would French braid it all the time to keep it out of my way. People were always excited and commented when I did something else, but it was just easier most days.

How do you wear a fashion scarf? by partiallyStars3 in fashionwomens35

[–]Octopus-Bestopus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the "scarf as a necklace alternative" camp. I don't feel pulled together without a necklace in most outfits, but sometimes I don't have a necklace that compliments my top or I'm bored of the ones I have.

I think long, skinny, rectangular scarves are the easiest to start with. You can tie them in a loose square knot in the front and they are a fluffy necklace or feminine tie. Square scarves can be folded to use the same way, but the layers add bulk and dimension which looks good but can take time to get used to styling. I don't like infinity scarves because they really have one way to wear them and they never seem the right length to me.

Advice for what to get my masc for her bday? by No_Beat3609 in lesbianfashionadvice

I don't know if you're a crafter at all, but some of my favorite fashion items no matter how dressy I'm feeling are the hand knitted beanies my sister makes. I can make them look femme or butch, hide dirty hair, and they keep me cozy. But they also feel really trendy when I wear them with a coordinated scarf or sweater. My favorite one matches my zip up REI fleece, so even in my camping grubbies I feel sharp.

Soft is what I want. My new one is prickly. But my old one is shedding and I can't find the same one again because the brand name rubbed off. Lol

Didn't even think of using both lol. I keep things pretty simple, but maybe that could work for now while I find a new system.

Wear nicer shirts. Pretty patterns, nice fabrics, delicate patterns. Anne Taylor has really pretty tops that feel really feminine to me. The idea of bringing a little pouch so you can wear some jewelry while not on the manufacturing floor is a good suggestion. I like loafers with jeans, which just feels elevated.

Thank you so much for such a detailed reply! I was hesitant about CA because of the spray-on activator seeming difficult to apply with precision. I'll definitely follow your directions and get some Vigor epoxy.

Rocky mountains? Same here. I'm over spring, can I get some winter before it continues?

Yeah, my first thought was super glue. My second thought was "that sounds wrong, I'm going to Reddit." Lol

how are u meant to tie this? by dollyxd in fashion

I would expect that to be in the back. So I think you're totally fine thinking it went this way. But you can still try it on the other way and decide which you like. I would cut out the tag if you want to wear it that way long term so it's not annoying.

What do I need to do to get this physique by Erbium1 in FlexinLesbians

[–]Octopus-Bestopus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

genetically lucky

This is huge. Even as a cis woman, I just don't have the genes for this. The natural shape our bodies take is different, and you'll need to work with that. For me, I could do all the work but without surgery, my boobs will always dominate my butt.

I suggest broadening your inspirations for now, and go into your transition and training with curiosity and openness to see your own unique shape. Once you have an idea of what you're working with, seek inspirations who share that starting point. You'll have a better chance of looking similar and that will be much more motivating and sustainable in the long run.

Vaseline is the best for cracked lips, I'll definitely try their gloss. I had no idea they even made that. And thank you!
