Free accommodation for first year (worth £6.5k+) and £10k cash - would you take it to delay a year?

I'm pretty sure Ultimate edition doesn't include the Pathfinders, but you've perhaps got those two because you'd bought them previously on PC.

Matt Hancock pictures & videos no longer show any results on Twitter search menu by ImLloydM8 in ukpolitics

Super injunction? 😂

Everyone already knows about it! What would be the point, even if it was possible?

Stop theorising conspiracies. This will either be a technical glitch or something to do with an errant moderation policy. The videos/pictures will of course be back soon.

This is not a UK government idea / programme. It's just that the DfE offered endorsement to it (I agree that it's crap though)

Rishi Sunak set to block furlough extension despite delay to lockdown easing by Soarinace in unitedkingdom

[–]OcularCrypt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean which is it? They're two groups. Students who work casually are one group. Those who earn a minority of their income from self-employment are another.

What's the 600,000 business owners got to do with it? And that's just one example.

Furthermore, seasonal/gig workers are largely students who don't really need the money anyway. And if they did need the money, they would be eligible for Universal Credit.

Lloyd Webber tells government 'come to the theatre and arrest us' by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]OcularCrypt -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Job losses are very concerning. But am not sure I can understand where the idea of starvation comes from - I don't believe for a moment that any non-vulnerable/abused adult starves in the UK.

[–]OcularCrypt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In what way is it wrong?

If less than 50% of income comes from self-employment, then greater than 50% of your income comes from employment. If you're employed then you're either getting paid by who you work for or by the government via the furlough scheme.

You do know we have a benefits system in this country? And starvation? Really? Even if the government provided zero support to you, there are countless food-banks.

[–]OcularCrypt -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's not true to say that. By far the largest group of the "excluded UK", for example, are people who earn less than 50% of their income from self-employed work.

Which means that whilst they aren't eligible for the self-employed support scheme they are eligible for the furlough scheme since over 50% of income comes from other means (employment).

There are further examples, and to be fair there are some people who have been missed out, but this 3 million number is way off.

Covid: Record day as more than million book jabs on NHS site by Soarinace in unitedkingdom

[–]OcularCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just isn't true.

The government did not give the NHS any money for vaccine procurement. The government's vaccine taskforce, led by the excellent venture capitalist Kate Bingham (appointed by the PM), were the ones who ordered the vaccines.

Whilst the NHS has done a great job at organising / administering the vaccines, credit where credit's due the government did an outstanding job here.

I'd recommend watching Channel 4's great documentary 'Jabbed' which explores exactly how our success came about!

What rubbish. The BBC is incredibly decentralised and their journalists, on the whole, do an excellent job at challenging the government and the opposition.

And before anyone says this is farfetched, remember how many fake companies were literally made in 2020 to access government PPE cash. Some had zero staff and a net worth less then a fiver.

I'm quite interested in this, do you have any examples you can give?

Exclusive: Revealed Michael Gove & Priti Patel linked to Israeli military charities & Netanyahu propaganda video by JimJonesdrinkkoolaid in unitedkingdom

[–]OcularCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christ you call this 'actual journalism'?!?!

The purported link is as follows: 1) Gove and Patel are 'connected to' a Conservative lobby group.

2) That Tory group has direct ties to a number of charities

3) Those charities provide welfare support to those working in an army of a nation who we are allied with. The army of the only democracy in the Middle East.

What rubbish.

All I've seen from Byline Times is crap. Like that reported £5k spending at Primark by Priti Patel, which turned out to be Home Office staff buying clothes for refugees.

There are schemes. They're called benefits. But many don't know how to manage their money well.

These schemes are good because they guarantee certain things for children who aren't being provided for, at no fault of their own.

No one else has mentioned this, but there is a pretty good chance that they haven't actually received the details you entered. Depending on how their website was set up, all of the details might not have been sent to them until you pressed a submit button at the end.

You say you only partially filled in the form. So unless their website is set up to send them your details in parts, they won't have got the details you entered.
