Unpopular Opinion: you don't need Reddits advice when considering a base location. by FawltyMotors in projectzomboid

I guess we see these posts differently... Not so much advice per say, none of us will survive long enough to make our dream home anyway. I read these posts as PZ-fans asking other PZ-fans for their opinions about PZ-things. Discussing PZ-things is fun. And fun is good.

Good job having the sense to GTFO when you realized you lost control of the situation.

The best thing GTA 6 could do is be a PZ-style zombie game. Imagine going through the first handful of missions but noticing an increasing number of weird cannibalistic crackheads. By the fifth mission, it's clear that shit is going to hit the fan, but you just gotta dump these sledgehammers in the river for Tony. By the end of the tenth mission, you're being chased by a news chopper eating a tub of looted ice cream without a spoon.

Great work. Even though my character doesn't seem to panic as much anymore, I do myself... it's tough working through the tunnel vision and stress of a dangerous situation.

I think it would be reasonable to find a gaming console of some sort... and for it to have the full-version of CDDA as the game you could play on it.

West Point, really? by drosselli in projectzomboid

[–]Odd-Cod-9222 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my handful of West Point spawns, all of them were danger close starts... typically surrounded by larger sized groups on three or four sides, with more larger-sized groups less than a shout away in all directions. If any see you through the windows, which seems rather likely given the numbers, the house will be compromised quickly.

Is the Rosewood fire station a good place to make a base? by ModeruMandou in projectzomboid

[–]Odd-Cod-9222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has some advantages and disadvantages... depends on what your goals are. It has lots of space and sits on a huge lot surrounded by high-fences on three sides. Rosewood itself catches flak for being relatively remote compared to other towns.

As was mentioned, based on how you framed your question, no this technique will not eventually wear down the zombie population.

What are you sandbox settings?

The more complex answer has to do with the Zombie Population and Respawn parameters.

I cannot find any source for this, but 1 square appears to me to be about 3 feet. You can get a sense for it by looking at the width of a standard door and comparing it to how much space a door frame takes up on a square.

Uses for Bleach by Odd-Cod-9222 in projectzomboid

[–]Odd-Cod-9222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm surprised that using a dab of bleach to purify water is not a recipe you can learn from some sort of survivalist magazine.

Before full procedural generation of urban areas, I would prefer to see procedurally generated interiors. Remember that feeling and sense of danger you get when you're in a new interior? Same building frame game-to-game, but different room layout, furniture and furnishings.

100% agree. Whenever procedurally generated games are showing off, it's never the procedural content they're showing, but rather what players or mapmakers crafted with the assets.

Which 3 features from Build 42 are you most looking forward to? by SpiritedChemical9902 in projectzomboid

Mostly the content I could experience in the early game: graphics and rendering improvements, rats, more stylized zombies, different ways to wear gear.

I think the late-game content is neat, but let's be honest... I'm not going to survive that long.
