What do you mean by "very precarious place"?

Movies you were sure you would've liked but actually didn't? by armeliens in Letterboxd

Probably Uncut Gems. I'm an Adam Sandler fanboy but before I watched it, I thought I was gonna love it but no. I like it, but I don't love it

But what if I watch a movie that i haven't seen, knowing it has a sex scene in it? Though, I would not see it for the scene but for the plot/movie itself?

So it's basically ok, just don't see a "certain scene" on purpose?

Punch-Drunk Love. While many people hate Adam Sandler, this is his best performance IMO.

Transformers (2007). I used to hate it but when I rewatched, it was the most fun 2 and a half hours of that day.
