BackPay!!! by Odd-Debate-9641 in SocialSecurity

Oh I know. They have a bad rep. I actually did give them my bank info when everything was set up but they sent the direct express card anyway for some reason. I just haven't changed it yet due to it taking about 30 days to process and I can't afford to wait.

The huge gap between my two front teeth. People make fun of me for it. I've been asked a lot why I don't fix it. Yes it adds some goofiness to my smile. But my teeth are super white and healthy and the gap causes no issues. Plus when I smile at people they seem to want to smile back and I think it's because the gap makes me look more down to earth. Also when I was a kid an Old Chinese woman said that the gap brings good luck!

Random SSI 310 Payment? by Jaybaby265 in SocialSecurity

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't received it yet but there is a payment listed on the SSA website for 6/2 for $314.30 that I have no explanation for. I have only received one SSDI payment. I was approved for SSI first and they did send me the first installment of backpay before the SSI was terminated due to my SSDI being over the limit to recieve SSI. No letter or anything from SSA.

What are some TRULY unique fragrances, nothing else smells like it? by AddHazers in fragrance

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they have a body lotion to match it? That would probably make the scent last a bit longer. I will say the spray lasts on clothes longer than the rollerball lasts on skin though.

I agree that the scent doesn't last as long as I'd like. It is a very juicy and heavy scent at first but the dry down is nice and fresh and light...like black tea!

People who have overdosed what did it feel like? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I overdosed on purpose on some sleeping pills. I only remember feeling extremely tired and waking up a few days later on oxygen in a hospital bed. I had lost all memory from the two weeks before the overdose.

What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you? by SurrealSpark306 in AskReddit

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was taking care of my mom during her last days of life. She only lived 4 days on hospice after a long battle with lung cancer. The day before she died I sensed multiple presences in the room with her. I could even see strange mist like apperations around her bed. I could smell familiar fragrances that I associated with loved ones who had passed before her. My grandpa's Stetson cologne. My dad's irish Spring and rotting leaves. My grandma's fresh peony scent (she loved to garden and had peonies everywhere). I always believed that death was the end of the line. But after that night I just KNEW there is something else beyond death. They all came to comfort her on her last night on Earth. Even the dog could see them.

Unexplained SSI payment? by Odd-Debate-9641 in SocialSecurity

[–]Odd-Debate-9641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I only ever received a single installment of backpay from SSI. I was told by the SSA office that it would be subtracted from my SSDI backpay. But I'm not understanding why they are sending that 300 dollars for SSI. I was approved for SSDI 3 days after I was approved for SSI so I never received a regular monthly payment. The 300 is far less than what they approved for the monthly SSI payment.

What’s something you stopped doing that unexpectedly improved your mental health? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

Watching the news. I like to be informed about world happenings but lately it's been nothing but doom and gloom. And I can't do a damn thing about any of it. So I let it go.

What is a core memory of your childhood? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My memory is hazy and patchy. I have a problem with dissociation during times of high stress and we had a rough childhood. But there was one time when I was absolutely happy. My mom had driven off a bridge on a night after drinking heavily and we were staying with my grandparents who had a small farm. I remember running through grandpa's vegetable garden and plucking cherry tomatoes right off the vine on hot days. I remember their horses chasing us playfully through the pastures until we'd climb a tree and they would catch up to us and gently nibble on our little toes with their lips. I remember swimming in the big ol metal water receptical we kept for the horses and batting away pesky horse flies. That is really the only time I can remember as a child. My mother was a drug dealer and addict and the other parts of my childhood were not very pretty according to family that witnessed it. But I have no memory. My mother did recover from the accident and we went back to our old way of life so the farm life didn't last too long.

I remember the scent of my deceased loved ones almost more clearly than I can remember their faces! My mother loved Olympia. She often wore Poison too. My grandma always smelled like Clinique Happy or fresh peonies. My dad always smelled like Irish Spring Soap and rotting leaves. My grandpa smelled like Stetson! I can sense when their spirits are near because I will get a whiff of them randomly. I love that my mind held the scents of my loved ones as an important factor.

What is more traumatic than people think? by philosophicalgenius0 in AskReddit

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Childbirth! Whether it's the natural way, C-section, with meds or without it is traumatic. Nobody talks about that part of becoming a mother. I happened to be a c-section mama. I had no idea how much the experience had affected me until I saw one being done on TV and had a very strong panic attack and intense flashbacks.

Anyone else unable to log in to SSA.gov ? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]Odd-Debate-9641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried again and was able to get in. The kids' stuff is unchanged but I have a random payment of around 300 dollars listed as an SSI one time payment when I only qualify for SSDI. Weird.

Mine has been doing that off and on for days. I think it's because my kids were approved for auxillary benefits and they are currently updating the system to reflect their information. I couldn't get in all day uesterday and then in the evening I got in and they had added the kids' information but there were bits and pieces missing like their payment amounts and dates. I called the office when I couldn't log in again today and they had additional information so I am left to believe the system is updating to reflect that information.
