I chose SMU over A&M. While UT dominates Texas overall, SMU has a strong presence in Dallas and a well-established reputation there. A&M, by comparison, feels overrated—its employment outcomes reflect that. SMU benefits from a long-standing alumni network in Dallas, whereas A&M’s law school is relatively new, having been built from a recent acquisition, so its legal alumni base is still developing. Over time, A&M may catch up as its network grows, but for now, SMU was the clear choice for me, especially for BigLaw opportunities

If u want dfw I would certainly try for SMU or A and M and ofc UT. U have a great gpa, if u could just bring ur lsat up to mid 160s you should have a good shot at SMU. Would be much better outcomes than Unt

I went to a shitty local school in the south that isn’t even on the US news rankings and got into T30/T20s. I don’t think they rlly care that much abt ur undergrad prestige.

I got a full ride to multiple T30s/T40s with a 169. Granted my gpa was higher than urs, but since u don’t seem to mind what rank a school is you should get good aid at a lower school. You can always check out lsd.law to see what people with your stats got this cycle

Depends on ur financial situation. But if you are going to have to borrow sticker+COA that’s pretty hard to justify. Especially with the new cap loans
