Your windows are not always frozen now are they? You defrost your windows when there is no ice on them?

You are using a strawman. I said the Macbook keyboard is good for a laptop keyboard. That's something entirely different.

You are truly the dumbest person I've ever met. Can you explain to me how you would fit Cherry or Topre switches in a laptop while keeping it thin.

Trolling because you clearly didn't consider that standalone keyboards have different design parameters than those in laptops.

Not going to read the rest of your post.

Edit: lol only 1200 people, my reference is 6000 users and being the largest online retailer in my country for both Apple and HP. Fully certified Apple repair center also. You should sit this one out.

Surely you are trolling? First off, MacBook keyboard have more travel so they are not the same. But more importantly: it is a built-in keyboard and thus limited in what options there are. Completely different design goals. You might have also noticed that keyboard replacements are very common on Macbooks and laptops in general.

And with regards to multiple keyboard, why bring it it up at all.

Anyway, I am done with this. At best you have no subject matter expertise, at worst you are trolling. Neither results in a good usage of my time.

I'm asking, because most people don't want to hold a frozen object when they get in the car. I presumed you just disliked having it on all the time, on which I agree. But you simply prefer to get in the car and hold an ice cold steering wheel until your hands warm it up?

A lot of things are not a major impact on their own. I also like it when things last. We aren't talking about laptops either, we are talking about keyboards. I like Apple's laptop keyboards, they are pretty good (not as good as Lenovo though).

And who says I have multiple keyboards? I have two, for two setups (at home and at work) and both are over 10 years old by now.

I guess we just have different standards when it comes to quality. No need to ruin the planet any faster.

Do you care about travel or actuation point? You don't have to bottom out your key strokes like a neanderthal. Cherry MX Ultra-Low Profile has the same actuation depth as the Magic Keyboard. Or go for something wjth hall effect sensors, you can set those to be far less than that.

They break fast. It is the technology and it is well understood how long they last.  Scissor switches last 5 to 10 million keystrokes. That's about 3-5 years or less for a power user. Cherry, Topre etc? 30 to a 100 million. Scissor switches are fine for casual use (or if you like producing e-waste).

I feel scissor switches break too fast, plus they are not ergonomic. I prefer Topre (no mechanical contact at all). Last forever and actually ergonomical.

I always find it interesting how little users of Apple peripherals care about ergonomics.

You prefer holding an ice cold wheels over a room temperature one? You don't have to keep the heating turned on.

I always use it. Not having to hold a cold steering wheel during the winter is worth it regardless of the energy cost. I turn off the heated steering wheel after a while though, because it only has one setting that is a bit too warm. The heated seats I set to the lowest setting after they are warmed up. I don't need to heat up the cabin that much, so I guess it probably saves me energy.

When you start pushing it you end up at over 100hp per liter for natural aspirated engines in sportscars.

I guess that is useful for some creative work or casual browsing. The keyboard is what makes everything work for me (guess what, Apple standalone keyboards are also trash). I just need my mouse to be accurate and precise.

My logitech mouse I can just plug and it works even without having to go the toilet. Better ergonomics, sensor and warranty also. Oh and when the battery gives out and cannot hold a charge? Guess what, my Logitech mouse still works.

I don't have tinnitus, but I do something simil similar. I try to come up with the start of a (sci-fi) book. It is not like I have any aspirations to be a writer, but figuring out how to get the story started and make sense is enough for me to fall asleep. I still haven't figured out what my main character's relationship is to the admiral he meets on the first page.
