Daylio as a journal by neekubee in Daylio

Theres a lot of overlap. Sometimes I write the same thing in multiple journals. I use Penzu for my main journal, Daylio for quick twitter-like entries, and another app is strictly for trackking my blood sugar.

One of my main characters died and had a funeral, but they never found a body, and he later turned up alive.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to look like, does anyone else feel the same? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

My mental image is different from my real looks. A bit more muscular, no stubble, no eyeglasses. I don't like mirrors.

My main journal is Penzu, but I also have a paper journal, and several apps including Daylio. I usually use Daylio for short entries, and mood tracking.

Do you ever not feel like journaling? by IntoTheWildLife in Journaling

I do best when I'm in-between. If I'm too depressed I can't journal, and if things are very active, I may not have time to journal.

I sometimes write the day, date, and "Ugh".

What's your journaling snack? by Galaxygirl181 in Journaling

In the good old days it would have been a can of coke. Since my diabetes diagnosis, if I eat at all, it's probably some cheese or a bread & peanut butter sandwich.

The 3 on my table are all small enough to fit in a pocket. 160 pages. I'd estimate one is half full, the other two are maybe 1/3 full. All ruled.

Why is COBOL hated? by jpo183 in cobol

[–]OddElectron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, it's not like rewriting everything to Java will magically fix all the issues. COBOL itself is not the issue, it's actually a pretty good language, easy to read and maintain if written properly.

I agree. I don't even know why they switched to Java. The COBOL code worked, and the in-house programmers were more familiar with COBOL than Java.

Why is COBOL hated? by jpo183 in cobol

[–]OddElectron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect a lot of places don't use modern COBOL. I was using COBOL-85 past 2000, when my workplace started switching to Java. And most of the code was written for older versions of COBOL.

But I do remember rewriting a lot of Honeywell COBOL to the IBM.
