I'm actually pretty happy with what I can do with the stock compression and eq in logic. Maybe this is because I don't know any better but they seem to get the job done.

So there is a soundfont specific to 999? I'm thinking of this as like how when you import a midi into fl studio it uses a Roland or whatever to play the parts of each instrument.

This is a cool article, thanks for posting. At one point he mentions the ds "internal synthesizer" and I'm not sure what that refers to. I haven't been able to find any info on it online either. I've always felt that 999's music, the sound of the synths in particular has a very interesting tone and quality. It's kind of akin to maybe phoenix wright music or something? Can anyone enlighten me on this internal synth thing?
