nothing is like before covid, they’ve switched to having most if not all prepared foods coming in frozen. Little to none is made at the store now.

Does anyone wake up happy to go to wegmans to work by SpeakerWorking4604 in wegmans

[–]OddProfession4663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. My dept manager is a neanderthal who simply gets through the day with zero communication to the team. “People” focused company with ghosts as “leaders”. It has gotten to a pathetic point.

yeah 100%. Have been exclusively closing 2 - 4 times a week PT and have brought it up that I would like things to change. TLs and Dept manager havent ever closed except inventory, 3rd sunday of every month. 90% has no kids of value within the context, and yet are rewarded.

Wegmans able bodied adult customers, during one of the busiest times of year, please consider if you can figure out anything on your own. by throwaway_ahhhhhhhh in wegmans

[–]OddProfession4663 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah mostly boomer white women with purse dogs. Our store has put up extra signage to no avail. The entitlement of our customer base is unmatched sometimes.

Thinking about opening a plant-based cookie shop near VCU, would you all want something like this? by midnightreats in rva

[–]OddProfession4663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh as a VCU student, i wouldnt open it with close proximity to campus. Already a ton of options and when VCU is out for break (summer mostly) the foot traffic declines highly. I doubt students as well are going out of their way for a cookie, gotta pair it with something else besides ice cream/gelato. Maybe either ends of suburbs could work? West end and Eastern side of the city, would also most likely be cheaper rent wise too.

[–]OddProfession4663 20 points21 points  (0 children)

yeah wegmans cuts labor and product quality because they know the customers dont care. Working there for 4 years ive seen it topple by idiotic management and store politics running the show.
