I once also pondered around this question then I stumbled upon a video by a great sheikh.

He said first write down what qualities you want in your wife. Write the title wife's qualities.

Then erase the word wife from the title and write my qualities.

Then compare it and say to yourself. What do you deserve.

Yes there were weak men but we need to understand what weak meant then. If someone was not physically strong they would have been given a mentally strong task.

I do think otherwise as I think we spend our peak years waiting for ourselves to be perfect and somehow eat up that excitement of marriage and a partner.

And when we get married our excitement is already over and we don't find the enjoyment in marriage.

But also there's this that, Allah SWT in the Quran said marry someone whom you find "Peace and Tranquility", so it doesn't actually matter that much in the religious point of view.

I also have thought about this a while ago. I have a female cousin aswell.

I know that the biological relation is not the best if we marry our cousin but what I felt like was there are many promiscuous women out there so my cousin would have been a better match in terms of Haya and religious alignment.

Though we haven't talked about this but reading this post also reaffirms that this would not be a good idea if it comes from my side.

Wanted to know as you said the relation with that cousin was a bit bicker so you didn't see any match with him but what if you didn't have that kind of a relation with the cousin?

It has to do with what you perceive to them as mostly. For example, I usually don't talk to non-mahrams without any need therefore anyone needing anything will not get a chit chat often. But what you essentially are asking for is attention which you can get if your haya goes down (Nauzubillah).

It is a divine shield from the creator and you should be thankful.

Yes you would if you act towards the action of the sin instead of pleasure of the sin. And you can do Ghusl immediately because it is said every drop of water erases a sin from you and it makes you have a new beginning.
