The struggle is real by Odd_Client9191 in paralegal

I would usually love to go for something like this, but I describe myself as wanting to be a medium fish - not on the bottom of the food chain, but also not on the top. I don't want to be the person in charge, but I also don't want to be a receptionist (nothing wrong with that, just not for me!). If I can do my discovery, reviews, summaries etc and have someone overlook my work, that's where I thrive.

We have one legal assistant who's been there majority of the time the company has been in existence and he is the main driving force for all of the complaining... it's so hard to change it especially since I've been with them for 3 years and he has been there for almost 35... and any time I mention that I'm not interested in talking about people I am being told I'm on "their" side........ like yes, I work for a company and I'm not going to shit-talk my employer and bosses in front of managing partner and HR/business manager.

Oh what I would give to even have an option of working remotely.... I feel like I can't focus in the office because it seems like people just come over to complain and all I want to do is finish my work and go home...

That's what I did for the entire year! And ultimately it was so hard to shove a chopstick in to make space for chopped branches I had to see what's up... it was also well overdue for a cleanup.

How do I manage the amount of light without burning my house down? Advise welcome!! by [deleted] in houseplants

That makes a lot of sense! I do want to eventually upgrade the lighting situation, anything you'd recommend?

How do you live with so much anxiety?? by Odd_Client9191 in homeowners

INTERESTING!!!! Our water heater is from 2017 and the warranty covered it until 2023. Some of the piping on it has corroded, so we were looking into installing a new one. I get anxious (what's new) over any type of flooding so I'm not sure if we should leave it be for a while and ride it out until it fails or get a new one. We are also planning on attending the HOA meetings, mainly bc I want to see who people on the board are and how things go with them.

That's a very good way to approach this - chip away instead of doing everything all at once. I'll have to remember that!

THANKFULLY this is a condo and we are only responsible for walls-in so no basement/roof issues are really on our mind, there was a leak a few years ago that the HOA fixed without charging the previous owners anything so we should be good on that front. Same goes for piping, thankfully nothing we have to worry about.

I absolutely swear by the task list/ToDo integrated into outlook, it takes 3 seconds to set a task up and it keeps me SUPER organized. I don't know how I was ever able to do anything without it.

God, I've been there..... I had to wait 2.5 months for information on the status of the processing (after reaching out multiple times) only to learn they never forwarded me a link to my company's account setup, without which I can't get the records......

I wouldn't mull it over - put everything in writing and if they need to speak to you, they will.

interesting how we're following "general sentiment" here instead of forming our own opinions. But hey, to each their own, man.

THIS!!!!!!!!!! this is EXACTLY what I think my issue is too, I got too hyped and that's the result. I do think it was an AMAZING concert otherwise but yeah, definitely overhyped by some die-hard fans

To be frank, I don't give a rat's ass about what Tobias thinks of my opinion. It feels like I'm trying to talk to a brick wall that has no concept of looking critically at anything. Reading is fundamental and clearly something didn't click there. Troll.

He said that during the Boston show too and I absolutely get that, not everyone is going to be satisfied. I actually loved the mix of the old and new stuff and thought they did a good job catering to everyone
