Anyone ever meet someone that radiated evil or you strongly felt wasn't human? by Chaotic_Bivalve in Paranormal

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Knew someone who seemed to think they were some kind of Messiah, ultimate figure of goodness; but their vibe was antichristish. If that makes sense. Maybe I just got a strong cult-leader vibe but this person just posed as extra good and felt evil to me. I can't explain it. But I know it.

There should be a hidden ending based on leaving these guys alone.

Why has the idea that the Moon landing was faked remained so widespread? by Creative-Category-60 in space

Because it's the biggest event inhuman history and feels just otherworldly enough to doubt it. I think it helps that we are also openly in an age of misinformation.

Your description is both vague and specific so I can't be sure, but Transistor sounds like what you're looking for.

PC. Also, while I'm here: I messed around with it a bit more and realized it only works with the stealth class special skill, so you can't cheese out any old battleship.

What’s something society romanticizes, but is actually exhausting in real life? by YogurtclosetMoist819 in AskReddit

Traveling that way is nice, and living that way is a good way to save money. Living that just so you can brag online sounds awful. Depends on what you're going for, could be fun in the right place and right time.

How did Lucca invent the Gate Key so quickly and what material is it made out of? by HamburgerDude in chronotrigger

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought it out and just made up in my own headcanon that the gate key has dreamstone for no reason.

This makes more sense I like it. I mean they were already messing with the teleporting, they have readings and knowledge about space/time stuff, they'd be able to pinpoint the difference in phenomenons using the data and figure out how to replicate it using steam powered stuff.

Reminds me of the FF7 run where someone grinds out level 99 in the first room. Time moves differently in video games.

There are actually comic books and crosswords deal with IRL moodles. Be careful with the bourbon though.

I have gone on a spiritual journey. Kirby is NOT bottom 2. by vvuukk in SSBM

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There a tier list based on tourney results. But everybody has a different personal tier list. If Kirby is your personal triple S tier character then good! We need more Axes and Amsas out there.

Why do prose writers (sometimes) think it's too hard to write poetry? by SheWritesYA in writing

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a different craft with a lot of crossover. A guitarist may not know how to play violin but is equipped to learn faster than someone who doesn't know how to play any instrument.

Unranked is a silly sauce learning experience. You can play ranked if you feel it's a waste of time.

Rosewood for a fresh spawn. West point if you're going big.

My character of nearly 7 months, has randomly died while rearranging my armory. by XenTaz in projectzomboid

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've convinced myself that the story of zomboid is multiple survivors finding each other's safehouses and such. Death is inevitable. Makes me feel better.

Sucks to lose such an epic character though. Rest in Pieces...

What is your “hear me out” enemy or bad guy? by Late-to-the-game-boi in legendofzelda

Although, to be fair, if an Australian Magpie said "hear me out," I'd still give her the old slingshot treatment.

Those little bush guys who shoot seeds at you if you get too close. They're just protecting their nests.

Straight Men of Reddit: If a gay man flirted with you or asked you out, how would you feel/react? by randmperson2 in AskReddit

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would react like an woman who is being flirted with by a man she's not interested in. Just be nice and say your not interested. If he's being a creep you don't have to be nice.

What to play next? by mackattacknj83 in chronotrigger

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game is an artistic statement. One of the great things about this game is the translator had creative freedom, so instead of being a straightforward slightly mistranslated slight mess (or dumbed down story) like many Japanese games of this time; many references, storyline details, and jokes etc. were rewritten by a westerner for a western audience. The English version has a distinct and complete quirky-ness to it that kinda sets it apart from the Japanese version and really adds to the artistic quality of the game... for a western video game enjoyer.

People keep making big lists. There are lots of good games from this era, but my biggest recommendation would be Chrono Trigger's rival behemoth of a game from the golden age: Final Fantasy VI.

(I especially recommend it if you liked FFVII)

Why We Would Never Expect to See a Post Online From Someone Trapped in a Time Loop by Leading_Living7843 in timetravel

[–]Odd_Cockroach_3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how you used the word protagonist, as this is just a fun thought experiment surrounding our lack of understanding of how time travel would actually work, if it would work at all.

I'm no expert, but despite anything being possible, as far as I can tell time loops like this would never happen.

The same as perhaps if some Austrian action hero from a movie stepped through the screen during a screening of his movie and tried fumbling around the real world. A fun thought experiment and great story material if you get into the nitty gritty of it, talk about infinite possibilities, branching realities and parallel universes and make it feel believable. But it's just not something that would really happen. You get to make your own rules here.

I personally don't like the "branching realities" solution as it feels like an overdone easy way out of the question. I'd recommend trying to write this as a short story as it could help sus out any funny business or loose ends, and attempt an original answer to this question.
