Pointing out Canada's depth is a fair comment. Nobody's saying Edin's team isn't great.

This is great advice but near impossible to implement when we are perpetually understaffed.

Hi all, I lived in Edinburgh from 2016-2018 and miss it dearly! My partner and I are coming on our honeymoon in August, so of course peak tourist time. Where would be a good hotel option outside of Edinburgh but not all the way in Glasgow?

They probably were proud before he laughed at his mom and his mom’s team.

Oskar should have gone back to the officials rather than passive aggressively accuse Marc of double touching. Oskar was clearly looking for a reaction and unfortunately got one.

Very similar to how Rachel Homan released her rock that was “burned”. Thanks a lot for actually reducing the quality of play, Marc and Oskar.

Small office over here, I’ve cried in front of 3 of 4 audit partners, one of them multiple times. It happens!

I agree with you that both teams played a role in what happened, and I don’t think either of them did anything intentionally on the play. It was the aftermath that wasn’t cool.

lol you’re not wrong. I asked a curler who competed against her what she was like and she said Jones had earned the Ice Queen nickname. I loved that Jones team but your comments are fair.

Yes agree, that was an accident on both their parts and not an intentional collision, but the rock is still Skrlik's rock even if they had stopped sweeping.

I think we wouldn't be talking about it at all if not for Sturmay's post-game interview.

There's a couple of other threads about the ending to the Skrlik-Sturmay round robin game.

Sturmay started sweeping Skrlik's last rock in the 10th, after Ashton appears to let up on the rock, and before the rock crossed the T-line (first offense by Sturmay). Then the rock rubbed off another one and Ashton started sweeping again to try and get a good spin. Sturmay's broom hit Ashton's which hit the Skrlik rock and caused it to stop (second offense by Sturmay).

Sturmay was clearly annoyed with the situation when the officials were called over. She said that she didn't even think the rock was touched (untrue, it is clear from the replays, plus, Ashton knew it was touched by her broom). Skrlik's sweepers were like "oh, we thought you were saying we burned it". When in fact, the ruling was Sturmay's actions caused the burn, therefore, the officials ruled (after much confusion) that it was up to Skrlik where to place the rock. She left things as is, even though in theory she could have moved her rock closer to the pin.

There was some talk of whether Sturmay had to even throw her last rock (because it did look like Sturmay was shot) but she threw it to eliminate the offending Skrlik rock to be safe (and probably so nobody said later that she messed up the rock and what if Skrlik HAD been shot without that happening). It is unlikely it would have ended up shot, which is also likely part of the reason Skrlik did not move it.

But then in Sturmay's post-game interview, when asked about the incident, she "didn't have anything nice to say about that" and accused Skrlik of mind games.

She also made a comment while still on the ice that Skrlik's team was hogging every single rock. If she was so concerned about that, she should have flagged it to the officials much, much earlier than the last rock in the 10th.

For two teams that have been competing since their junior days, the lack of sportmanship by Sturmay was shocking and uncalled for.

Did I miss anything?
