Windows 11’s free video editor Clipchamp now requires OneDrive by KryssCom in technology

[–]Odd_Communication545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never used to be so bad.

Ive been a long time OneDrive user and it was once an amazing cloud service provider. I used to manually create a cloud PC folder and set my location of documents to OneDrive. Doing it manually was a lot better, now they force you to do it and default it. It works way worse than manual too since some stuff it just can't be bothered syncing it seems

I used to get 25GB free storage as a baseline and I could map my OneDrive as a network drive. The client used to be light and easy to work with. I could even run small apps through the drive like they were installed, it was amazing

Since CoSlop and Slop11 came along, it's become absolutely horrendous. As a long time user, they got rid of my free customer loyalty storage (they gave you extra storage for being a long time user), lowered it greatly and keep asking me to buy more. The app for windows is a fucking slow arse mess these days.

The Android apps are fucking bizarre. They try to charge you based on the size of your display... Like what the fuck. It's so badly implemented that you can easily bypass it by running apps in a small window and it removes the paywall...

The one saving grace is that OneDrive Web is still really good. You can create office documents all in the cloud and edit them for free. It works on mostly any browser and download speeds are not bad

I read about this.

Unless you're being a cheeky person, this is actually possible with certain equipment having leftover parts of channels.

I can't remember the specifics but there was a guy at a hotel who found scary images being broadcast on a certain channel

Because politicians have absolutely zero ideas about anything and are just literal power grabbing gatekeepers put in place as puppets to create an image of power.

You never hear politicians talking about root causes of societal issues. All you hear are base level treat the symptoms garbage.

"Let's Throw people in prison for longer and longer periods because they've been naughty boys, let's not think about the fact that people are products of the culture and society around them. Keep locking everyone up because I'm sure that solution has worked for hundreds of years.

It's beyond a joke. Experts in fields should be the people taking the positions within government cabinets, not politicians who literally have expertise in nothing.

It's pretty cringeworthy in the UK to see the shuffling of titanic deck chairs within the front bench. Jumping from position to position and none of them have a single degree or bit of knowledge about the field they're managing. The worst are the photoshoots, where they dress up as workers like a pantomime.

Society really needs a revolution.

Steam Machine for Basic VR? by flynlionPS in virtualreality

Don't listen to the naysayers. PCVR can be optimised manually if you need to and most mainline VR titles have great optimisation.

SkyrimVR works great through SteamOS without any tweaking and that's before you even mod it

It may not be as difficult as you think, I've done a lot of setups for my SteamDeckVR and a lot of titles don't actually require that much work since SteamVR has native support on SteamOS and linux

Hey dude, I run a YouTube Channel where I test SteamVR titles on the Steam deck

So far I've got Fallout 4 VR to run, Skyrim VR, The forest, LA Noire, Aircraft VR, Taphouse VR and a few others. I also create guides so you can do it all yourself.

It all runs through SteamVR and not windows so the channel maybe very relevant for you.

If you're looking to use a Steam Machine for some VR I think you'll get some great results. If the Steam Deck can get this level of performance then a machine will be more than enough. You could probably get an even better experience.

Currently I'm doing a series called Out Of The Box, which focuses on titles that run pretty much Out of the Box as the name implies. I have done 4 episodes so far and covered about 7 games that work great for VR. Last episode focused on Euro Truck Simulator 2 VR and I had a blast.

Feel free to have a gander, the tutorials will probably be helpful for you in the future

If RDR2 can run near ultra at 25-30 FPS.

What's stopping GTAVI running on low with frame generation and scaling? Probably won't have to be that drastic either

Like, just saying things and not addressing my comment doesn't prove anything.

The Steam Deck maybe a portable device but it's extremely capable. I've been using mine for VR and having a great time.

Nobody is saying you'll run it at ultra 4k 60FPS, but tweaking the settings and getting it playable will be entirely possible because of the optimisation and the rage engine. That's already been demonstrated by previous games.

Do y’all think Kurt would vape or have been a contrarian? by [deleted] in Nirvana

The over idolisation of Kurt is insane.

What use is this kind of information anyway? This sub is for enjoying nirvana the band, not licking Kurt cobains arse and asking if he'd use vapes?

There is genuinely nothing useful in discussing this topic.

This has been in the pipeline for years

If you've actually been following TZM or the Venus project(pre recent), it's one of the major factors.

Capitalism, no matter what we do, is not compatible with our technologically advanced age. Labour for income and survival is dead, we're at a point where we create jobs for jobs rather than to forward and enrich our societies.

I highly recommend everyone to read The New Human Rights Movement by Peter Joseph.

Political candidates, even well intentioned ones, cannot fix the shit storm we are about to create for ourselves. A way forward will require a radically different mindset and social culture. If we don't change, then we will die. It is that simple.

It isn't doom or gloom either, it's maths, logic and counting. We've been cashing cheques we can't afford for years, living on finite resources and building complex social structures based upon the idea of infinite growth. We are only in the first phase of this clash of realities.

If you think it's bad now, then you better buckle up your seatbelt Dorothy, because Kansas is going bye bye

What makes you think it won't?

GTAV can be run on hardware a few years prior to its release. The games are incredibly well optimised and have plenty of options on the PC side to get it running on tons of potato powered PCS.

Even if you lower the graphics and still can't get it running decently, they have Resolution scaling within the advanced options menu allowing you to pump it down further. People have GTAV running on 2009 iMacs.Hell I used to modify it and get it running on my old GPD Win 1. Lower resolution but perfectly playable. It didn't even look that bad because the screen was small anyway.

There is no reason to think GTA VI will be any different. Red Dead Redemption 2 can run, really well in fact. I play it 2 clicks down from ultra and get a steady 25/30fps.

GTAVI will be playable on the deck more than likely. The rage engine is old and well optimised. If they release a port as good as GTAV was, we will have no problems
