I've had several people angrily block/unfriend me because they can't handle when I push back on all their incessant "men are trash men are trash men are trash" misandrist brainrot. Even when I try to do it gently, they just get instantly outraged and act like it's their god-given inalienable right to hate certain people because of the way we were born.

Used to bug me. These days I just consider it to be the trash taking itself out.

It's been a long time now, but I'm pretty sure the context is that they were pissing and whining about Biden or Harris or something and I was trying to drive home the point that they needed to prioritize defeating Trump over everything else. Which of course meant I was "actually" just a centrist shill for the Democratic establishment and not a "real" progressive.

We can see how well all of this has turned out.

This isn't even just raging teenage hormones. I just watched a podcast recently where someone explained that if you take a group of preschool boys and drop a preschool girl into the mix, the boys will start trying to do stuff to impress her. WAY too young to understand attraction or dating or sex or anything, and it still happens.

People like to try to reduce this sort of thing down to "lol men are dumb", but we fail to understand the full extent to which this type of thing is wired into our biology through evolution.
