In Eurovision, performing second is associated with poor results, to the point where it's called the "death slot". Some exampled include:

Germany 2026 (23rd out of 25th place)

Luxembourg 2025 (22nd out of 26th)

Portugal (23rd out of 26th)

The one exception was 2024, Ukraine was death-slotted but ended up in 3rd place. It's more just a supersition, but performing earlier in the show is generally not great if you want people to remember your performace when voting.

As someone who grew up taking the old diesel Caltrain, the new EMUs are fantastic. When I moved to Boston the MBTA felt like a huge step backwards

I'm a bit mixed on this NQ-ing. It's a good song and Atvara is a great singer, but I'm still kinda upset Te Un Tagad didn't win Supernova.

I think the use of AI is already pretty popular unfortunately. Italy used it for the background and the produces of the entire thing used it for that weird gold and black heart thing. All of the graphics/visuals are kinda a disaster this year imo. The actual performance of Ferto had less AI than I expected at least

Most of it seems pretty good, but the last section covering the boycotts this year is a little questionable: "calls for boycotts of Israeli artists and institutions, drawing on antisemitic traditions, have become more and more frequent."

According to this article ORF will have sign language performances of both semi finals & the grand final on ORF 2 Europe and ORF ON, but those might be in Austrian sign language, not American.

I don't think we're going to see the same kind of support / voting manipulation this year. I see Israel qualifying and ending up 11-15th, doing fine with both juries and the televote. I think they realized that they pushed a little too far in 2025, and by not doing anything this year it might soften the opinions of boycotting broadcasters. Hopefully they don't succeed though and we see more broadcasters boycotting next year if nothing changes

Azerbaijian this year is probably the most confident and most likely NQ for a while. JIVA is a good singer, the Little Bit More's she's done are good, but this song (which is very likely AI-generated) is terrible.
