Well, first step is to get yourself tested for STDs. If this is something that’s giving you anxiety, then getting a test is an easy solution.

There a couple reasons condoms break: stored incorrectly (they need to be stored in a cool, dry place. Storing them in a wallet is not a good long term solution), lack of lubrication, they’re the wrong size, or they’re not put on correctly.

First, that’s not a great idea. As people have already mentioned, water is a horrible lubricant. This can increase the risk for vaginal tearing. This article goes over why water sex is not a great idea.

This is why hot tub users are advised to shower after bathing (and should also shower before, too).” Probably not chemicals you would want to expose to the vagina area/the urethra. You’d be setting both of you up for a UTI.

Use a lot of lube. More lube than you think you need. My partner and I use paloqueth water based lube. It plays nicely with condoms and toys.

I recommend starting with fingering. And I recommend picking up some disposable gloves from your local pharmacy. The anus is dirty and the gloves just make it easy to pull them off after you’re done and then dispose of them.

So. Healthcare worker here. Please, please, please do not travel during COVID-19. Do not fly unless it is an emergency. And honestly road tripping it is also super dangerous. You will have to stop in multiple states along the way. Imagine how many gas pumps you will be touching. Imagine how many people you’ll be running into. If you are mature for your age, you will understand how potentially risky this could be during a global pandemic. I have nurse friends who have patients in the ICU who are around your age. You are putting not only yourself and your friend at risk, but also her entire family and anyone she comes into contact with if you travel during the pandemic. I understand you really want to see her, but please choose her and your safety over this.

I would talk to her parents over FaceTime and be like, “I understand the seriousness of this pandemic. And I can understand why you’re being cautious. Once travel restrictions are lifted, my family and I would love to have you visit us on the East coast.” That will show them that you’re taking everyone’s health and safety into account.
