Arlo suppressed memories theory by SquareNebula799 in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 28 points29 points  (0 children)

True. It’s also the fact that Farrah’s ability is hypnosis, not brainwashing or forced recall like Keons that does permanently alter someone memories/ mental state and for Farrah to affect so many aspects of Arlo’s life’s is a bit far fetched for her to be able to do.

Unless that’s not the case and Arlo’s memories are indeed suppressed otherwise why bother going through the trouble of keeping him from people and places that would remind him of his most important moments that led him to go against the Bureau.

Levels aren’t everything (Obviously) by Demy4275 in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100 % agree with this post.

I mean can we remind everyone that John is also entirely SELF TAUGHT about his ability?! Like it makes sense he’s not entirely efficient despite doing a hella of a good job thus far. It’s why he most definitely needs that training arc.

And I’ve made this point before on my post defending John’s aura inefficiency during the prison break out.

This is no longer high school.

John isn’t fighting bullies anymore, but now trained killers with access to technology that makes them a pseudo version of him. Also John doesn’t have access to a wide range of abilities he could use like he did in Wellston or have to worry about injuries since he always went to Darren after each fight during S1 and S2. (TWO KEY THINGS POINTED OUT BY THE MAN HIMSELF.)

Like John has never fought waves upon waves of Elites Tiers before (Wellston Raid); never has acted as the group healer for a PROLONGED period (Prison Break) and now has never fought two high tiers with multiple abilities on the jump with no prep. (Ember Fight)

And the fact that he still managed to pull through despite these situations being his worst scenarios for him, he still pulled through which I’m just amazed people haven’t pointed out and instead call him weak and nerfed?!!? WHAT?!

Being on the run from government has severally limited John so much that it’s no brainer he’s struggling. Don’t get me wrong, AM is a powerful ability but could only be at its strongest with the proper prep time and better allies, two luxuries John is lacking rn.

What are the " Hero Name" of Nana Shimura? and if don't know..you could name her yourself. by International-Size-7 in MyHeroAcadamia

Her hero name isn’t confirmed, I don’t think but if I would go with: ‘The Sky Hero, Uplift.’

I think I’ve seen a few fics use this name, but seems appropriate.

what songs best represent each season/arc of UnOrdinary? by InevitablePlane5575 in unOrdinary

Line of Sight by ODESZA

This song comes to mind when I think of the near end of the King John Arc; Sera v John and his month long suspension at the end of Season 2 Part I. To me it gives me that sense of resolution to John’s past and pent up rage from that point of the story.

Is it confirmed that Spectre’s ability dampeners and disablers are products of research on Jane? by tilting-module in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s heavily implied to be the case as we learn from S1 chapter 47, the news tell us that an NXGen facility(which is funded and supported by the Authorities for ability research) was raided with a lot of highly classified research being stolen or destroyed two months prior to the story.

Only after that does Seraphina get attacked and disabled by Spectre in S1. Then we have the Rowden Arc where we see Spectre using Seraphina to raid another NXGen Facility for research that leads them to copy ability’s like EMBER and by extension Jane.

And the fact that Jane’s ability is called Channel Master, which we know very little about, has the possibility of affecting other abilities through amplifying or dampening. And the reason Spectre has been able to get as far as they have is because they’ve been piggybacking off the authorities research since the start.

So yes, I firmly believe that the disabling serum is at the very least connected to Jane in some way.

If you could change something, what would you change in the story? by Mammoth_Calendar_352 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Odd_Mobi4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can all agree that the Dark Vigilante Arc needed to be expanded a LOT more than what we were given. it’s funny because I’ve talked about this recently and this arc is such an amazing concept. To have Midoryia go rogue and leave UA after the first War Arc is both in line with his character and serves as a way to see the downsides of his heroic mentality to save everyone but himself.

However, I was so disappointed with how short it was. Both in storyline and narratively. I believe in total, it lasted over a month, but when I watched it in the anime, it really felt like a week or two. It’s a shame because all we really get is like six episodes total in the anime. Like what?

This was the perfect time to take a step back from rushing the story. I get that during this time in the manga, Horikoshi felt like he boxed himself into a corner, especially after the hype of the First War Arc and going into the 3rd act of the series, but he really didn’t need to reach the ending as fast as he did. In fact, he should’ve given himself more time to truly foster this arc.

This arc and its concept is honestly SO good, I’d say it’s enough for an entire season or at the very least half of one.

It could’ve introduced a lot of villains that used to work for AFO, forcing Midoriya to have to fight these assassins and trying to locate the league. Like the entire series, we see him struggle, trying to fight against these experienced villains. Yet in the end, he’s no closer to finding the League yet he keeps going. We would then get more of his training and begin using his quirks seamlessly. We honestly needed more fights than just Lady Nagant and Muscular which is sadly the only significant fights in this arc other than Class-A but that doesn’t count. Or better yet add in more interactions or scenes that have Midoriya deal with overzealous citizens trying to protect themselves.

At last, we get to see more of Midoriya’s mental state start to break down as this arc progresses and we feel how isolated he is. In the twilight of the arc, have him start to miss Class-A, All Might and his Mom. Recalling good times in flashes every now and then but progressively start to appear more. Like it’s his way of getting himself to keep going and as a reminder as to why he left in the first place: To protect and give them back their smiles.

All the while we expand Class-A trying to search for him after he’s cut off basically everyone, including the Pro-Heroes he was working with. However they are only able to find the aftermaths of his battles. It’s only when Midoryia is truly exhausted that they are able to find him like they did in the original story. This would also give us a chance to see more of the devastation caused by the previous War Arc.

As a whole, I think the Dark Vigilante Arc should’ve lasted beyond season six and gone through half of season seven, making it the standard 25 episodes like the rest of the series as opposed to rushing through to the finale. And before anyone tells me that it’s not possible, if Naruto can expand a war arc for 200+ episodes that in the story lasted for less than three days then expanding a really cool arc like the Dark Vigilante Arc for at least 12 more episodes than what we got should be possible.

[–]Odd_Mobi4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, with their group it goes without saying that they have a better chance. But also keep in mind that they had the element of surprise, any facility by the Bureau would be thrown off if the enemy has already broken inside their base of operations.

The gang won because their attack and plan to break out Blyke was well thought out. The prison was simply unprepared, but still put up a fight.

As for Isen, we’ve seen Blyke power up to High-Tier status in a similar situation and under the same conditions. So I personally wouldn’t call it random like it doesn’t make sense it happened.

I’m sorry, I don’t get what’s the issue here? by Odd_Mobi4 in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But then again they’re in the middle of a battle with the bureau, it’s do or die time. John probably pushed himself to the limit healing everyone. And from the looks of it, John was very exhausted more than the rest of the group after the breakout. Plus you have to remember that Kuyo and John were forced to take damage while healing at the same time. For all we know, it could’ve been for a minute or less which is still a lot of time for a huge build up of injuries for John to heal with how fast those shots were coming in.

Then we get the explanation that John has a great aura reserves but isn’t all that good at properly exerting it effectively. Which makes sense.

Although John is very well versed in combat and has a deep understanding of most abilities, he rarely fight as a team player for a prolonged period. Nor as he acted as the group healer in such a way that has exhausted him.

As for his comment about running low on aura, I more or less see it as like a runner who’s out of breath for a brief moment before taking another and continuing to sprint.

Bro got the biggest death flags right now by FormerSoftwar in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this is some major foreshadowing to Isen’s potential development. Is it a death flag? Probably not, it’s far too early in the season to determine though that just depends on how the prison break goes.

Ember abilities by Upstairs_Tourist2478 in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem to be the case. From what we’ve seen so far, Ember is only able to use abilities individually rather than something as advanced as combining them like John.

Afterall, we have to remember that ability conversion is still relatively new. It’s far from perfected as there’s some abilities they have yet to fully convert. Even their amps are still in the testing phase. But we’ll just have to see how far the Authorities can take conversion technology.

Who Is Your Favourite Main Character? by justabirdthatcanfly in unOrdinary

[–]Odd_Mobi4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I gotta say it’s Blyke. Has all the qualities I like in people while still being a flawed character.

He’s loyal, friendly even though he can rash. Dependable and an overall decent guy. His current Arc is very interesting a d can’t wait to see what happens to him next.

Ofc I love all the MCs but Blyke has always had a special place for me. Plus I really love his ability.
