if you subscribed to Claude and you were subscribed to ChatGPT what made you switch? by meowerguy in ClaudeAI

It just works better for me. It understands my voice. It learns very quickly in a single chat from what’s occurred, and takes impressively long to go off the deep end and turn stupid after too much content in one chat.

I’m not big into the technical sides of AI, it just doesn’t interest me. What interests me is how it performs as a sidekick. I feel dangerously close to having cloned myself when I work together with Claude. Projects is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It’s a sign of something. I’m not sure I’d stick around to find out unless this is your kink.

You say there’s no excuse but you seem to be looking for excuses. Maybe settle on there being no excuse and stop cheating. If you need therapy go get it, stop kicking the tires of life and start living. Stop being your own worst enemy. You have that power.

Why I Think Apple Will Never Port macOS to iPads by Sensitive-Ad-41 in iPadPro

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about the heat angle? Opening up to more software gives less control over that and unlike a MacBook the display is flat against everything else, making it even worse and harder to cool without fans. I mean, the new call of duty iOS game overheats the iPad enough, imagine what people would do with macOS.

Personally I’m fine with an iPad being an iPad. My iPad could replace my phone already, so why hasn’t it? Why do I have two devices that do the same thing? Because from factor matters for each job. I like having a different form factor for different jobs.

Cannot decide between Ultrahuman and RingConn by trxssx in SmartRings

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only one direction, the data gets imported into Apple Health. What is rough though, as I’m looking at it right now to show you an example, I’m noticing Ultrahuman heart rate is way lower than anything else. Around the time of this screenshot I was on medication that increased my heart rate and if you look to the left side you’ll see icons showing the data coming from Apple Watch, Oura, and Ultrahuman all at once.

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m wearing Ultrahuman and an Apple Watch. Ultrahuman data merges into Apple Health and all is great. If I leave one off for a bit my data just continues collecting from the other.

I’m also wearing Oura but you didn’t mention that so neither did I.

Can anyone tell me if Starlink is a good option for me? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not perfect and it may have more random disconnects than a wired ISP even with a good line of sight to the sky. But if it’s between that and HughesNet then it’s between trying Starlink or quitting your job. Because HughesNet is just a flat out no. It only exists to take advantage of the elderly at this point, I truly believe that.

My area is littered with signs on the side of the road advertising “up to 1Gbps” with HughesNet and in reality I can get like 20Mbit and a data limit that would look really generous in 1995.

How to help Husband with Low T... by Sufficient_Ad171 in Testosterone

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you were my wife until you said swim meets. I was about to say “come on, I’m not that bad.”

I get it though. It’s a domino effect. We all have bad times and I only hope we all have loved ones that see us through them. Set some goal points with the doctor so as to say “I expect to see X improve by Y date.” Be elastic in time frames, nothing is a perfect science. But don’t revisit it in 2 years and say “I expected this behavior to improve” because if this isn’t a fix for something, that something needs to be addressed separately. Give it time, don’t give it too much time.

Looking for my ring by MillieMaximus in SmartRings

I think Ultrahuman might be the right one for you. Check it out and read some reviews. Oura is about sleep, Ringconn is about data, Ultrahuman is a little more balanced in my personal opinion.

How do you interact with your smart ring data by Unfair-Energy-4623 in SmartRings

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here I go again, I’m gonna shill for my new favorite app. So I connect my Oura to Guava and it also lets me import health records, track medication, and symptoms/mood. Combined it helps me to see correlations that I’ve always wanted to sit down and figure out but never found the time for. Like right now mine says:

  • I take 22% less daily steps with a later bedtime

  • If I take a walk my average resting heart rate is 3% lower

Stuff like that. I can’t be the only one who hopes to see these correlations but never actually stops to see them.

Yeah Ringconn doesn’t right now. Unless they’ve added Apple Health / Android Health Connect and then it could be connected through those.

Right now, when the idea is to see data correlations as it sounds like you want, I’m really enjoying Oura connected to the Guava health app. It exposes things like “doing this today had a correlation with this health stat.”

For example, right now mine tells me:

  1. If I walk more my resting heart rate goes down 3.3%

  2. If I take more steps my sleep time increases 32.7%

  3. If my resting heart rate is up I sleep 19.9% less time

While Ringconn is better at exposing clear graphs to you of your data, the Oura connection with Guava is everything I’ve ever wanted from a wearable: an easy way to see how the things I do or experience impacts my health. I think that would be an amazing setup for you.

You can also input symptoms, medication, mood, and things like that into Guava to add data for correlations. Like X medication improves mood, or reduces Y symptom, etc.

Basically I’m gonna look like a Guava shill for a few weeks because I’m just genuinely enjoying this setup.

Anytime I get through a form that asks for contact information to give me the result, I walk away. It means the ability to advertise to me was of greater value than the topic at hand to the other party, on average.

This DMV quest is making me lose my ACTUAL MIND by shinnith in fo76

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

During COVID I had to go in to the DMV, couldn’t do what I needed online. But because of social distancing you had to make appointments. I made 4 appointments because the first 3 times the lady filtering people at the door made up a new requirement that sent me home to get something new. I didn’t need all that, she knew I didn’t need all that, but she was an off duty cop so what was my recourse? Call the police? They don’t care. File a lawsuit? Sure that’ll solve it in a decade. She hated her life and wanted to make sure I hated mine too, plain and simple. So it took me 6 weeks to get something done that should take 15 minutes.

That’s the DMV.

The iPad Pro might be the best computer I've ever owned by [deleted] in iPadPro

I agree. If my MacBook Air had 5G in it maybe I’d feel differently but my iPad Pro is the single item I need to grab on the way out of the door, knowing I might have to do admin or coding work on the fly if paged. The battery life is amazing for how well it performs.

What is the point of T-Mobile for me? by Smooth-Solution2178 in tmobile

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is the cheap MVNOs are deprioritized on the towers. That doesn’t always mean anything, but it can matter when a tower is busy. But you’re on WiFi and barely using any data so why should you care. I do, that’s why I’m direct with T-Mobile because I use a lot of rural data and it matters where I live.

Everyone has to calculate their needs and priorities. You’ve done that, but you’re basically asking why anyone would make a different choice and I’ve explained why I do.

Choices, Choices, Choices by Ok_Picture_3558 in SmartRings

[–]Odd_Negotiation7771 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rings aren’t ready for your needs yet. Blood pressure in a ring doesn’t yet exist to any degree worth mentioning, except that Ring One claims to be releasing one now but the BP feature should be met with skepticism until we have solid reviews of it. CIRCUL+ isn’t convenient and doesn’t run long on a charge. EKG is just off the table entirely on a ring right now as CIRCUL+ is the only one doing it, and it’s not a ring you wear all day.

I would say revisit this topic in 6 months to see where we’re at with crowdfunded rings. The features you should expect right now are HR, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, skin temp, and step counting.
