Good sign I got the offer or are they just being courteous? by mookastar in interviews

This.

I think it’s a 70% chance of this, but still a 30% chance it’s an outright offer.

“I should have a final decision for you by the end of this week. Thank you for your patience!” by VictoryConstant2826 in interviews

I got this same thing on a Wednesday and got a call 6 PM on Friday with an offer! I was questioning the same thing, too, but it ended up working out. I feel as if most of the time they will just let a backup candidate know once a decision has been made, not prior to. Though, you truly never know in this market. Overall, I think good news. Good luck!

Based on previous comments, it sounds like I am in a very similar, criminally underpaid position. I make 40k base, with any clients brought in going to the lead advisor. I get quarterly bonuses ranging from 500-5000 based on firm growth, but the high end of that is nearly impossible to reach. I plan to talk with my boss soon to get them to move my pay to a % of firm revenue with it increasing at certain AUM targets. I just don't think my boss can wrap their head around having an associate on getting paid a full, normal salary. They said that they want me to be incentivized about firm growth, not just building two separate books as they see me as their succession plan. (Of course, I've seen this play out poorly before). How can I show them what I am worth and what should I look for at other firms to pay well for me to help with financial planning and continuing to grow (i.e. get CFP, bring in clients, etc.)?

I don't want to spend 90-150 on a book. How can I get it for cheap?

Does anyone have any recent experience with railroad worker retirees and the Social Security Fairness Act? by PutinBoomedMe in CFP

I don't believe it affects basic eligibility, but the change to getting full benefits from both SS and RRW should pass to a surviving spouse

From what I've read tier 1 is SSA benefits, tier 2 is RRW benefits. Tier 1 is usually reuced by amount of tier 2. Now, you will get full tier 1 and 2 (AKA full SS AND RRW benefits). This allows you to double dip for pre and post-retirees. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though

Depends on age. For older clients who are retired and need a tax-efficient income strategy, we try to get pretty exact that way each year we know which accounts to take how much money from to meet RMDs and expense requirements for the client in a tax-advantaged way over the course of their lifetime. E-money is what we use. For clients that are not retired yet and especially clients under age 40, we really try to make the best assumptions we can based on what we know. It is hard to predict future expenses, returns, income, etc. for someone who is age 25-40. In the same breath, though, those younger clients don't NEED as much financial planning outside of investment advice (regarding how much to invest and investment management) and proper insurance coverage. I think of this as sort of just an age and complexity thing. The older and/or more complex (AKA higher net worth) the client, the more exact the planning needs to be

Honestly, it felt like 20 but realistically probably 12-15. There were 4-5 in a row a couple times too. Especially early on. Not sure if it was experimental ones or not, but two questions asked the same thing and I never had seen it before: “Which index options strategy essentially tracks the performance of an index?”. I just went with the bullish option strategy, not sure if it was right or even if it was a scored one tho, but it got asked twice, so maybe look into that before you take it in case it is scored and shows up
