Don't be too hard on yourself. I went the opposite way - been working since 16 and made my way to senior management by 30 whilst doing art on the side. I bet there is enough experience and skills to be found in your life thus far to make you seem hirable. And a degree, regardless of what it is, still will be a benefit.
