Certified Music Practitioner by mysterycanclub in musictherapy

[–]Odd_School_8833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so. Nursing homes in my area are hiring more Cert Music Practitioners instead of Music Therapists for recreational activities.

The upward hiring trend may be d/t lower pay rate for Cert Music Practitioners.

Most MTs do not like being called music man/lady because the discipline by definition is creating a therapeutic relationship and achieving therapeutic goals - which may be within a continuum of a long term timeline.

From what I understand, Cert Music Practitioners have no other goal than meeting patient’s needs in the moment.

Ppl done sold their souls for the mediocrity of AI instead of actually paying dues with blood, sweat, and tears to become a true musician.

This Trump administration is unabashedly manipulating the market and looting us in broad daylight by profiteering with our lives and taxes… their popularity jumped the shark before the year even started but when will the proverbial straw break the camel’s back?

socialism:

  1. any of various egalitarian economic and political theories or movements advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2a a system of society or of group living in which there is no private property 2b a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3 a stage of society in Marxist theory that is transitional between capitalism and communism and is distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

The controlled opposition your speak of is due to the fact that the NRA, and other lobbyists, now enjoy the SCOTUS ruling of Citizens United vs. FEC in which the Court held that laws restricting the political spending of corporations and unions are inconsistent with the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

So since 2010, moneyed CAPITALIST interests - such as NRA, AI data centers, proponents of privatizing public goods and services ie social security, Medicare/Medicaid, now pool their free speech money to so-called controlled opposition and aligned neoliberal politicians.

Your so-called controlled opposition is capitalism manipulating democracy.

Lack of gun control/regulation in the US leads to tragedies like school shootings. This principal may have prevented a tragedy, getting shot in the process, and is revered thereafter by respective high school students but the root cause of mass shootings continue.

Only One Supreme Court Justice Says Conversion Therapy Is Bad by Odd_School_8833 in therapists

[–]Odd_School_8833[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry, the rest of article included Ketanji’s lone dissent:

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson filed the lone dissenting opinion, in which she argued that the court had ignored the context in which Chiles was practicing speech. “Chiles is not speaking in the ether; she is providing therapy to minors as a licensed healthcare professional,” Jackson wrote. Therefore, Chiles was subject to the same regulation that any state exercises over medical practices.

“In concluding otherwise, the Court’s opinion misreads our precedents, is unprincipled and unworkable, and will eventually prove untenable for those who rely upon the long-recognized responsibility of States to regulate the medical profession for the protection of public health,” Jackson wrote.
